My self-summary
I moved to Dubai in June from Minneapolis. I have mixed feelings about the city, so I'll avoid publically committing myself one way or the other.

I came here for work, which I've been doing quite a lot of. It can be hard to find time to meet people here, hence this profile.

Other than that...I'm not against long walks on the beach.
What I’m doing with my life
Gee, internet, are you judging me too now?

I don't know, OK?
I’m really good at
Netflix marathons. Knowing about that one thing you were just thinking of but couldn't remember. Humming slightly out of tune songs.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told I laugh at things too early. I don't know that it's the first thing, but it's something.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love reading. Right now I'm on the third book of the Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) series. I also love Ham on Rye God Bless You, Doctor Kovorkian and Holden Caufield will always have a soft spot in my heart.

Mostly, my views on literature can be summed up here:

I'm not so picky with movies, but I will say being in my first job out of college American Psycho has taken on an entirely new meaning. I firmly feel that Second Hand Lions is the most underrated film of my generation.

For a long time I didn't have a TV and now I have one that doesn't get cable. Alfred Hitchcock Presents has become my new favorite show.

I love music. I play piano and have for years. I frequently try to learn the guitar with varying levels of success.

Food is a big deal to me. I love all of it. Trying new foods is my favorite.
Six things I could never do without
Something new to learn.
A good book.
Restaurants (I really hate cooking, but I'm not bad at it when I put the time in)
Web comics
Diet Coke
A nice steak every now and then

UPDATE: Apparently we don't have Diet Coke here, and I'm living. I guess I'll have to reconsider everything about my life now.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future.

The past.

What others think of me.

What I think of others.

On a typical Friday night I am
Marathoning some BBC show my friends haven't heard of.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I would end a friendship over someone not liking the opening sketch of Monty Python's Meaning of Life.
You should message me if
You're smart, funny, and like show tunes.

You love black and white movies.

You want to travel to somewhere, even though you don't speak the language.

You know the answer to all life's questions.
