My self-summary
I'm Eddie! I'm a nerd, and I love learning in equal measure about the natural world and mankind's history of folly. I love nature, though I don't see it enough, and I love the internet even though I see too much of it. I live for myself and the people close to me, but as a recovering punk rocker I still have a rather dim view of society as a whole. I made the mistake of trying to rewrite my profile without getting a proper night's sleep, so excuse me if this makes me sound like a pretentious twit. Maybe I'll fix it tomorrow.

Take note: I identify as polyamorous, and currently girl with whom I'm completely in love. That said, I'm still eager to meet new friends and lovers here in San Francisco. It's the spirit of the city, after all :)

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents."
What I’m doing with my life
After graduating from college, I spent two years as a math tutor for snotty rich kids. Two years ago, I decided that I was tired of having a boss, and I quit so I could try my luck as a day trader.

Today I earn my living playing the stock market, which is fun but boring. I spend my time making movies, which is stressful but exciting. The studio that I'm a part of just premiered its first feature at the end of 2013, and we should be finishing our next project this year. You can check out the trailer for our first movie here: www.struggledreagansfilm.com

One day, I hope to earn enough to be truly independent, so I can pursue my dreams. What would that entail? I don't rightly know! Maybe I'll open an Oddity Shop? Start my own toy company? Build an airship and sail around America? Maybe all three, or maybe something else entirely! I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
I’m really good at
-Spouting off random facts on a wide variety of topics (Thanks wikipedia.)

-Climbing things (Rocks, trees, the sides of buildings, etc)

-Making it awkward.
The first things people usually notice about me
How tight my pants are.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love to read, and I do it an awful lot. I've been on a bit of a non-fiction/history kick lately. Right now I'm reading Edward Gibbon's The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, and trying to re-learn all the high school Latin that I forgot while I was in college.

Some of my all time favorite books are: Demonic Males: Apes and the Origins of Human Violence, Cloud Atlas, George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series, anything by Thomas Pynchon, The Illuminatus Trilogy, and the comics of Alan Moore. I also love Franz Kafka, Lewis Carrol, and magical realism.

I really love music too, and my tastes fluctuate constantly. I develop a new obsession every week, or every month at least. My preferences tend towards the fast, the loud, and the weird, but I can appreciate quiet beauty, as well.

I only recently discovered the awesomeness that is rap music, after being a steadfast punk/metalhead for most of my life. The Coup, Wu-Tang Clan, Kanye West (I know), and Odd Future all have a place on my iPod now.
Old favorites include: Star Fucking Hipsters, Leftover Crack, Operation Ivy, Anything with Mike Patton, In Flames, Death, etc etc, and oh yeah... BLACK METAL.

My favorite movie is Primer, because it's so hard to understand that you can watch it 10 times, and still not be sure what happened. I also really enjoy basically anything from The Coen Brothers, Stanley Kubrick, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, as well as Charlie Kauffman and Michel Gondry.

Also, I love all food. Food is delicious. I tried to be a vegetarian, but couldn't keep my edge. If you can help me stay vegetarian/vegan, all the better.
Six things I could never do without
Well hmmm... Gotta have my laptop and my iPhone, because I would shrivel up and die without my technological umbilical cord. I'll also want my synthesizers (for computer music) and an acoustic guitar (for regular music). The Sun is pretty important, too, seeing as it's the ultimate source of all life on earth, and because I love a long walk on a nice sunny day. Finally: I have a bit of an overactive imagination, and I just wouldn't be myself without it, so that's gotta be number six.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I tend spend a lot of time concocting ridiculous plans and schemes that somehow never see the light of day. My current improbable fantasy is building my own steampunk-style airship, and sailing it across the country (or at least to Burning Man, ha)

Lately, however, I've been thinking more and more about the future. What will I be doing 10 years from now? What will be going on in the world? Will America fix its problems and become a world leader again, or will our entire government collapse, plunging our country into Mad-Max style chaos? I'm not sure I like where things are heading, but I'm sure the journey will be anything but boring.

Also: kink.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out at some club or dive, hanging with friends, or hunched over my pirated copy of Adobe Premiere, editing movies.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
These days are (mostly) behind me, but I've ingested more or less every recreational chemical known to man.

I'm sure it was a good time, but I somehow find that I can't remember most of it. =P
