My self-summary
I'm equal parts responsible and fun: By day, intrepid internal medicine physician, and by night, fun-loving, wine-tasting, karaoke-singing superhero, minus the super powers.

I'm not perfect, but I'm comfortable in my imperfection.
What I’m doing with my life
I play doctor all day. Specifically Internal Medicine. I recently finished residency and I am employed as a Hospitalist.

However, I am also not defined entirely by what I do. My passions include attending live music shows, whether they are small club shows with indie artists or larger concerts. I enjoy photography at a fairly high level. I'm working on finding balance between my professional life and my personal hobbies and far, so good.
I’m really good at
(or am working on being good at) photography.

Lately, I've been working a lot on scenic portraits, such as engagement photos. Really enjoying how light works and plays. Mostly do it for my friends, and they've been very happy with the results, and I'm very happy being able to capture their memories for them.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm usually the most dressed up person in the room.
I like shirts and ties, in bold colors.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite music include the singer/songwriter/pianist types, especially my favorite Charlotte Martin, and also Tori Amos, Rachael Yamagata, Vienna Teng, Dido, Sarah McLachlan, etc.

My favorite movies are gangster movies, and not only in English! This would include The Godfather trilogy, as well as Hong Kong action movies like The Killer and Infernal Affaris, upon which The Departed was based. On the lighter side, I like comedies with witty repartee and impossibly funny dialog, like Swingers (which I've chosen not to tag as an "interest," because who knows what would turn up, then?)

Unfortunately, lately I don't read anything except for Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine and the New England Journal of Medicine. When I used to read for pleasure, I read a lot of crime novels.

TV isn't listed above, so I have to throw this in here myself. Favorite TV Shows, close to being in-order:

The Wire, Homicide: Life on the Street, 24, 30 rock, Community, Friends, The Sopranos, The Office...

Wow, that's a lot of titles that are "The (Something.)"
Six things I could never do without
Internet Access
Good Music
The ability to count
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future, the present, and the past, in that order.

One thing I think a lot about is COMEDY and how someone arrived at creating a joke. Did it happen in real life? Does that person just have an overactive imagination? Or do they sit in a room and ponder the absurd? Yeah, that was directed at YOU, Steven Wright.

I also wonder about people who are good at things. It seems to me that it takes a lot of practice to be really good at something, and I wonder, then, if it stops being enjoyable?
On a typical Friday night I am
Having a glass of wine either at home while listening to music, or out with friends.

As mentioned before, if I can be at an indie music concert, I'll be there! But I'm quite picky about what I like to listen to. I have a small group of friends who have trusted "recommendation" status.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is that I used to pay for another dating site, but free is always better. :)

Also...I throw out food when it hits the expiration date. I don't care if it's the "sell by" date...if there's any sort of suspicion whatsoever, it's gone!
You should message me if
you'd like to meet a man who acts his age (or at least close), but who also has the ability to be silly and goofy, when necessary.

Life is too short to not be able to laugh with someone else... and laugh at yourself!
