My self-summary
I am a guy that is looking to meet someone, and fall in love- if it sounds desperate, so be it.
I am kind, smart, funny, loyal, attractive (I have been told this by people, and I choose to believe them.)
I can be shy, I can be outgoing.
I can be mean, but I am mostly loving.
I am a bad cook, but I can pick great restaurants.
I talk too much at times, but I also give my undivided attention when you need it.
I eat too much, but I also run quite a bit.
I will let people's negative opinions about me roll off my back, but I will never allow anyone to say disparaging things about my family and friends.
I ramble on and on and with that, I will bid you adieu (if you have read this whole thing- God Bless You.)
What I’m doing with my life
As I enter the new phase of my life, called my mid 30s, I find myself being called to pursue a higher level of education and go into the field of addiction counseling (more on that later.)
I’m really good at
Being honest with people. . . in a constructive manner.
I also have a strong work ethic.
I try to see the good in people.
I am loyal, loving, and I am really good at being transparent (take that as you will.)
The first things people usually notice about me
People usually notice my walk, I have been told that I walk with confidence and a sense of purpose.
People tend to notice my smile, but I think that is mostly because my teeth are so white.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A magazine is like a picture book that keeps me entertained with pop culture and requires none of the cerebral nuances that a book does in regards to conjuring up what a character may look like. A movie helps to create a visual story sometimes with dialogue and a story for you and friends to have a conversation about later, and a television show is there to provide you with moving pictures while you eat: cheeseburgers, nachos, fries, Milk Duds, chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, Baby Ruths, and other "food" items along those lines (mostly not all at one time.)
Six things I could never do without
1) Family
2) Friends
3) Greasy food
4) My running shoes
5) Money
6) My sobriety
I spend a lot of time thinking about
This question is difficult to answer for me because I either look like a narcissist ("I think about the world and my place in it",) or I look like an airhead (I am very up to date on issues pertaining to pop culture.). However, if I am being totally honest, I am thinking about love- the act of falling in love, being in love, and just waiting for that one person who will show me what love is all about. I am not consumed by it, I am just waiting my turn for it to happen to me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Getting done with work, ordering a pizza and watching a DVR'd television show. I find that after spending so much of my twenties out and about and getting caught up in the melodic sounds of the club, I would much rather in my thirties get carried away by the sounds coming from my television set. This is not to say I am opposed to going out and dancing, it is just not as important as it used to be.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
"My name is Dominic DeLeon and I am an alcoholic."
I am a very upfront person and share a lot of who I am and what I am feeling, and thinking with people, sometimes I wish that I could be a bit more mysterious. However, you will not find me spilling my guts on social media sites (Facebook, Twitter and the like), feelings like those should be a private affair shared with people you trust.
You should message me if
If you are an engaging, smart, witty guy who loves their family and their friends and who may have room for one more person.
Please be confident, but not arrogant. Have a healthy ego, but please know that you are a human being who has flaws like everyone else. Please be a great tipper (I really dislike cheap people)- this is a deal breaker.
I would like you to be kind, but tough minded. I would like you to not be a dick head. Please enjoy a dry sense of humor, dirty jokes, and possibly. . . ME.
Looks are not that important to me, but you must at least be able to give off the impression that you appreciate a good shower and that you have done some sort of physical activity in your life- running is a plus, but so is horseshoes.
Above all know who you are, be able to stand up for yourself, but know when to back down and be open to what Life has to offer.
Redheads are a plus++++
