My self-summary
I am confident, self-sufficient, and assertive. I have a strong sense of values, especially when it comes to loyalty, trust, and commitment. I am not a party animal. I dislike crowds and noisy environments (having to yell at someone standing next to you is not a real conversation). I have an entrepreneurial attitude and enjoy new projects. I've been accused of being too serious but to my defense, I've never had to apologize for my foolish behavior. I'm always the DD after a party (see previous sentence). Always D&D free as well. My politics can be summed up by a quote by Maggie Thatcher. “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
What I’m doing with my life
Got a new job close to home and love the extra hour each day that the shorter commute provides. Working to expand my side business so i don't need to work for "the man" forever. Enjoying my new freedom and trying to do what I enjoy doing, when I can. I enjoy biking and hiking, to include geocaching. I use to play tennis a lot and it would be fun to play again. I can golf, though it has been a long time and my game would be embarrassing. I teach an astronomy class now and then (need a lesson?) and do public outreach a number of times a year. I recently took up air rifles and enjoy field target competitions (shooting metal targets). Poker, anyone?
I’m really good at
Building and fixing things, cooking, astronomy, computers, home entertainment systems.
The first things people usually notice about me
How tall I am and that I don't look as old as i am. Well, ignore the grey!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Food: Love most cuisines but it shouldn't have to be trendy or weird to be good. Favor salmon or another seafood over steak.

Musical tastes: Classical or Classic Rock when i bother to listen. I'm usually catching up on the news.

Movies: Eclectic taste, I guess that comes from being a part time movie projectionist in the past. I avoid raunchy comedies and dislike overly predictable and melodramatic romantic comedies. Everything else is fair game, especially SciFi.

My reading time is usually of a technical nature, such as astronomy magazines. Not much time for novels but I think the last novel I read was one from Dan Brown.

Favorite quotes: "There is no such thing as luck; only highly favorable adjustments of multiple factors to incline events in one's favor."
"Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day."
And my personal favorite that I'm fond of using: "You can't have it both ways."

Social Media: I'm not on Facebook or Twitter. I don't care to or need to share with the world what I ate for lunch. It is far to easy these days to lose what little freedom we have, so why give it away voluntarily.
Six things I could never do without
Is this serious or jovial? My health, of course. On the lighter side, dark chocolate, popcorn, and nuts, oh my! Tea, hot or iced.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The current technical problem I am trying to solve.

How we got to the point where our elected officials have hijacked this great country of ours.
On a typical Friday night I am
Relaxing at home, doing laundry, etc. Hey, what makes Friday's so special? Some people's Friday is on Wednesday. Profound, eh?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
This forum isn't private, so I admit nothing...nothing!
