My self-summary
East Bay Explorer. Radio nerd. Unabashed foodie. White feminist trying hard not to be a "White Feminist". Part-time poet (recently demoted to quarter time with promises of promotion). Arts & culture junkie. Bookstore wanderer. Friend of felines with hopes of owning a cat again soon. Novice meditator (my teacher would argue that there's no such thing as a self-summary). Extrovert who hates the spotlight. General enthusiast. Hufflepuff.

If I had a catch phrase, it would be "Pun Always Intended". Or "Time for a Dance'mergency!".

Steeped in stories. Stewing in laughter. Burnt by ambition. (A thing I wrote once that seems to sum me up).
What I’m doing with my life
Moved back to the Bay a few years ago after getting my Masters in Arts Administration at the University of Oregon. I miss Oregon beer, ice cream and movie pubs, but I'm open to suggestions in the Bay! Working for a community services org in Berkeley and inching towards my dream of starting a resource center for artists doing social change work. #babysteps
I’m really good at
Laughing. I love to laugh. So, I surround myself with hilarious people.

Urban exploring!! And by that I guess I mean exploring the culture of an urban environment. I've a little obsession with trying to do everything around me. If you have any suggestions of places I need to check out in the Bay, please let me know!!

Writing? Well, I'm working on being really good at it. I used to write a short poem everyday on a #MetaphorADay twitter. I hope to one day turn them into a zine.
The first things people usually notice about me
My enthusiasm. "Let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure." - Dumbledore

Maybe's it's just my curly hair. What do you think?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
As an aforementioned arts & culture junkie, I have a very long list of favorites. So I shall give you the highlights, for mystery! And science.

I love Thao's music so much that I am tempted to end the list here. But for the sake of variety, other favs include Lake Street Dive, Chairlift, The Wild Reeds, Radiation City, Electric Guest, Architecture in Helsinki, Black Kids, Pink Martini, Louis Armstrong and Camille. Also, I have been listening to Hamilton non-stop for 4 months.

Movies that have given me an art coma (a haze of wonder that renders you speechless): Pan's Labyrinth, A Separation, Babel, Revolutionary Road, Pina

If I could have an actress play me in a movie, it would be Jenny Slate. And my romantic lead would be John Mulaney.

Books that I pause to say hello to every time I'm in a bookstore: A Visit from the Goon Squad, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norwell, Everything is Illuminated, The Elegance of the Hedgehog, Alif the Unseen, The Phantom Toolbooth, anything by Aimee Bender or Rainbow Rowell.

Give me a tv show with strong female leads any day: Parks & Rec, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Firefly, Jane the Virgin.

I have a podcast recommendation for everyone. Currently, it's Code Switch. I listen to Dear Sugar, How to Do Everything, Dinner Party Download and Wait Wait on the reg. I listen to Gilmore Guys religiously. If you are a Gilly, please move to the front of the line. The Memory Palace is the most beautiful thing ever created.

I will stand in line for fancy veggie Southern food, brunch or weird ice cream.

I have wished I could live in the theater so I could see all the plays. I seriously considered moving to Ashland for the summer to do just that.

If I were to come across an Andy Goldsworthy artwork in nature, I would cry. I dressed as Cindy Sherman for Halloween once and it was my greatest achievement.

And that's my attempt at brevity.
The six things I could never do without
1) my friends
2) culture
3) adventure!
4) the environment
5) laughter
6) delicious food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How much easier my life would be if I could teleport. Then how chaotic the world would be if we could actually teleport. I have this idea that there should be teleportation depots at similar named streets like go from one 1st St to the next 1st St. Somewhat controlled chaos. At least strangers or worse relatives wouldn't be popping up in your house all the time.

There are so many things to do in life. So, I spend a lot of time thinking about how to best use my time (thus wasting time). Again, teleportation would help.

A bulk of my time is spent reading/thinking/talking about sexism, racism and all the intersectional isms.
On a typical Friday night I am
Well that all depends on what is happening Friday night. Know of something radtaculur?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a big celebrity crush on Darren Criss. Any Very Potter Musical fans out there?

Also, I can rap all of Gold Digger by heart. I'm actually quite proud that I can pull this off.
You should message me if
You think we share some similar interests and you're ready for Adventure Time! I'm looking for someone who has a lust for life. Someone who wants to take advantage of living in the Bay and explore this crazy metropolis with me!

Looking for something to say?
Tell me about your perfect weekend. If your Lazy Sunday involves making breakfast and listening to Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, then you are made of solid gold stars. Or if you like to go to concerts and dance your ass off (even if they're outdoors), then I salute your steppin' it up, steppin' it up to the streets.

Or if you have a great punny name for a roller derby or quidditch team, then you must tell me immediately!

Allons-y!
