My self-summary
A native of the mean streets of Niagara Falls, I've spent the past couple of years on the west coast soaking up the sun and style of Los Angeles, and now I find myself back in beautiful Western NY. I'm a fairly outgoing person, but can be a bit of an introvert, at least in the way I process things. One thing is for sure, once I feel comfortable with you, you'll find it impossible to shut me up. More than that, there's a good chance I will embarrass you in public places, because if I'm being honest, there is an inexplicable amount of absurdity and childlike mischievousness underneath my calm and collected exterior.

I'm quick witted and take pride in making others laugh constantly.
I'm an all-purpose nerd.
I love science.
I use terrible puns to infuriate people around me.
I do not respond to most situations in a socially acceptable manner.
I always look for the best in others, and assume in turn that they see the worst in me.
I cope with my awkwardness by way of sarcasm.
I'm an empath.
I have a seemingly endless supply of patience for those around me.
I place an incredibly large value on honesty.

I'd do anything for the people I love. I have a real passion for education, and try to walk the line between being a lifelong student and (health) educator. I also love traveling, cooking, baking, golfing, and connecting with others in general. Also, I'm a guy who grew up in and around Buffalo, so it should go without saying that I love Buffalo sports teams.
What I’m doing with my life
I recently completed my Masters in Public Health out in Los Angeles, and am currently in the process of applying to a handful of PhD programs in clinical psychology and neuropsychology.

When I find some free time, I usually can be found studying (hooray), on the golf course, or hanging out with my baby nephew who happens to be the cutest thing in the world.
I’m really good at

Seriously. I have a very sarcastic sense of humor, and take pride in always keeping others laughing and having a good time. So if you can handle a healthy dose of sarcasm, I'm sure I'll come off as perfectly charming.

Other things I'm great at include: being a stickler for grammar and punctuation (I'm a huge proponent of the oxford comma), dressing snazzily, being hyper-competitive when engaging in seemingly relaxed activities, bringing out the ridiculous in others, and singing. That goes doubly when I'm in the car... I get lots of weird looks from people at traffic signals.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile. I've heard it's disarming, or infectious, but either way, I'm almost always smiling.

I can come off as a bit shy, and I may not always be the most talkative, but you can be sure I'm not bored, just intently listening and soaking in everything about you.

If not that, then they are likely noticing my clothes. I like bright colors more than I probably should...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This probably won't be a comprehensive list but...

Books: The Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire, Mountains Beyond Mountains, The Wheel of Time, A Confederacy of Dunces, The Great Gatsby, the Classics, and The Poisonwood Bible

Movies: Star Wars, Children of Men, Inception, most Pixar joints, Memento... the list could go on for a while

TV Shows: The Walking Dead, Dexter, Breaking Bad, The Americans, Homeland, Scrubs, 30 Rock, The Wire, The Newsroom, Game of Thrones, Community, Arrested Development, Lost, Archer, and The Venture Bros. (cartoons for adults, what's not to love?)

Music: I love almost any kind of music, from classical to hip hop to rock. Special mention goes out to Justin Timberlake, Mumford & Sons, Journey, The Beatles, John Mayer, and Justin Timberlake.

Food: Yes
Six things I could never do without
1) Family and friends
2) Good books/music/ things to inspire me and stimulate my creative side
3) My golf clubs
4) Being surrounded by nature, or at least being able to escape to it, whether that be a beach, the mountains, or elsewhere
5) Traveling to new and exciting places
6) I'll go ahead and be that guy: someone to share my life with
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to improve on myself, how I define meaning in my life, and other similarly existential questions.

Also, the scientific and mathematical principles at play in our everyday lives. I think we can all agree that human physiology is dope.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually working or hanging out with some close friends, but I'm more than happy spending the night in with Netflix, or taking in some live sports/music when the stars align.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
As a young child I used to tell people my name was Eddie Murphy. We're talking like 3 years old. I was a strange kid...
You should message me if
You're a single, happy, love having fun, or just think we'd get along! A sense of humor is a must for me (and by that I mean you must at least be able to appreciate how funny I think I am). I love an intellectual woman, and have a serious soft spot for those who embrace their inner nerd.
