My self-summary
I'm the kindest person who is brutally honest you'll ever meet. I'm looking for a friend and a lover who can be as wild as I can be and when the mood strikes us, quiet and affectionate.

I am polyamorous. This means I am happy to have multiple "in-love" relationships. I am not a swinger and have zero interest in polyfuckery. I am here to date in the old-fashioned sense-- to meet someone who shares similar affinities and with whom I share a spark of passion.
What I’m doing with my life
I work part time as a writer and full-time as a mother. I attend local sloshes, munches and other community events. I paint and write for my own amusement in my spare time.
I’m really good at
Writing. Painting. Talking. Things involving my mouth.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told the following:
I look young for my age.
I have fantastic hair.
I have a huge vocabulary that I use in casual conversation.

No one says I'm fat, but I am fabulously, gloriously voluptuous. In the words of MotoMoto from Madagascar, "Damn Girl! You round!"
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
When We Were Very Young, AA Milne
The Molly chapter from Joyce's Ulysses
Revolutionary Road
Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series

Terrence Malick, especially Thin Red Line and Tree of Life
Maya Deren
Bill Viola installations
Elizabeth, Dangerous Liaisons, Interview with the Vampire, The Elephant Man
Coen brothers and Tim Burton
Pixar and Hayao Miyazaki

Used to have season tickets to Mark Taper Forum and South Coast Rep, but that was ages ago. Sondheim is delightful. Bob Fosse!

Left of the Dial box set is a good snapshot
Crass, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Bowie, TRex, Beach Boys, Broken Bells, Dresden Dolls, White Stripes, Dead Kennedys, Dali's Car, Smiths

Indian: Chicken Tika Masala! Veg Korma
Thai: salad rolls, the salad with the potato chips and the peanut butter dressing, the green curry with the bamboo shoots
Vietnamese: salad rolls, cold rice, soups, lettuce cups
Japanese: sushi, tempura, udon, bento boxes! edamame
Pacific Rim and fusion rock
I'm kind of a foodie. I can cook and I've been to Gordon Ramsey's London in Los Angeles. I haven't been to Recess yet, but I'll get there eventually. Fogo de Chao is overpriced and not interesting.
Six things I could never do without
1. Loving relationships that include sex
2. Coffee in the morning
3. Art of all types
4. Wild, interesting friends
5. Making art and doing creative stuff
6. Hugging, kissing, cuddling
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My kids. They aren't on the above list because life without them is inconceivable.
On a typical Friday night I am
Checking email. Opening a bottle of red with husband. Watching something Disney with the kids. Having coffee with the gang at Mojo's. Driving to Chicago.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The most private thing I'm willing to admit depends on context. I have a blog in which I discuss being a bad object. I'm honest to a fault, so if you want to know something, ask. I don't usually volunteer a great deal of private information, but people are often shocked at what I do not consider private. If I can laugh about it, it isn't very private. If it makes me cry, I keep it to myself and my intimates.

You should message me if you think I'm pretty. (Everyone thinks I'm smart and funny and good company.)
