My self-summary
Im a chef and I absolutely love what I do; I get to work with some pretty amazing people and good or bad, its never boring, even when you’re working like an animal. That being said, having a demanding job really makes me value my free time and I try to make every moment as meaningful as possible, whether it's feeding my brain with books and such, chillen with people I care about, or going off on whatever spontaneous adventure inspires me that day.

Im definitely a free spirit and like to kind of take things as they come, hence picking up and moving to Puerto Rico from Boston last year. I spent this last summer traveling through Seattle, Portland, Napa, San Francisco and then chillen in LA and doing some pop-ups before settling back in here.
What I’m doing with my life
Settling into hustle mode and cooking as much as I can to get closer to my goal of opening my own place in a few years
I’m really good at
Defying expectations, communicating, bear hugs for no reason, survival in the urban jungle, making poor life decisions and recovering from them, being a culinary pirate and taking no prisoners, living in the moment
The first things people usually notice about me
Usually my eyes and my tattoos. Also, when people find out I'm from Boston, they tend to be shocked (and a little disappointed) that I don't have the accent and that I'm not an asshole…Is that really our rep?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Musically I'm down with just about everything. Hip-hop will always be my first love though and I grew up on a lot of jazz, Motown, soul and blues. Recently I've been more into alternative stuff and classic rock, and who doesnt love the Beatles, Marley, Bowie and the Chili Peppers? Suggestions always welcome!

Authors: I love Junot Diaz's authenticity, Garcia Marquez's/Allende's ability to weave together fantasy and reality, Sedaris' wit, Borges for blowing my mind on the regular, Dickens' storytelling, Franzen's skill in making the ordinary extraordinary, the way Pahalinuk challenges and fucks with you, George Saunder's/Vonnegut's absurdist humor, Hemingway's honesty, and the crazy world that Thompson lives in. The Night Circus also has some the most beautiful imagery of anything I've read in a while.

TV: SNL, Battlestar Galactica, The Wire, Top Chef, Workaholics, Nova, any and all Law & Orders, The Simpsons, Family Guy, The West Wing and The Walking Dead, but I hate commercials so I mostly watch on the inter webs.

Movies: Total cinephile, so pretty much everything. Favorites are Miyazaki, Richard Linklater, Pixar, the Coen Brothers, Judd Apatow, Kevin Smith, Gus van Sant, Tarantino, Guy Ritchie and about half of Woody Allen. I'm a total sucker for well done (and even not so well done) scifi, fantasy and thrillers. I've also seen the Blues Brothers about a million times and it never gets old.

Food: If you can safely eat it, I'm down, but I particularly love southeast Asian, Japanese, soul food, oysters, and a big ol' platter with some cured meats. Throw in a good beer or a solid cocktail.....(drooling)
The six things I could never do without
The six things I could never do without
1) Salt
2) My knife kit
3) My peeps!
4) Sunshine
5) My crazy family
6) The independence to go where the universe pushes me
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How amazing the human brain is and how it does what it does, how totally fucking breathtaking the natural world can be, ways to be clever and creative with food, all the places in the world I want to see (there's a list) and how I can get there, how straight up hilarious life is sometimes, how to be more centered and mindful on the daily.
On a typical Friday night I am
Cooking for pretty much every Friday night for the rest of my life
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am very commited to singing in the shower. Also, while I spend the day making incredible food that people pay a lot of money for, often the most complicated things I cook at home are bagels and frozen burritos.
You should message me if
You believe in pushing your limits and trying new things, are relatively stable with a solid shot of crazy, know who you are but still have room to grow, are drama-free, and understand that confidence and attitude are by far the sexiest things about a person.

Working as much as I do its hard to maintain serious relationships and Im open to something more casual, but would ultimately like to find something more long term.

Einstein said that there are only two kinds of people: those who don't believe in miracles and those for whom everything is a miracle. If you fall into the second group, we're going to get along great.

Added bonus if you're in the industry or are *super* into food/cocktails/beer
