My self-summary
I like to laugh. I used to read a lot of books. I read magazines more now. I'm happy when I end the day with a good beer. I'm not as militant about needing coffee in the morning as I used to be.

I'm from the Left Coast, I've lived in cities all over the country. The Arizona High Desert is a magical, mystical experience that I recommend everyone undergo at least once. I really enjoy traveling. Berlin is one of my favorite cities.

I think we live in a world where people who sell unnecessary shit want other humans to feel small and insignificant if they don't buy lots of unnecessary shit. I like nice things, but I don't think everything that's for sale is particularly nice or necessary. I enjoy spending time with people who are similarly discriminating in their tastes.

I spend most of my life dumbing myself down for people, hence, I try to avoid doing so when engaging in optional social activities. If you don't like having to think too hard when engaging with potential sexual conquests, I may not be the lady for you, love.
What I’m doing with my life
Arts education, story-telling, physical theatre, performance art.
I’m really good at
Writing, performance, being an educator, cooking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm chocolate brown.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love Thai food. Even bad Thai food. Magazines: Harper's (not Bazaar), Vanity Fair, The Atlantic Monthly, The New Yorker...

Books? Toooooo many to name! Greatest hits list for me includes Toni Morrison, Octavia Butler, JK Rowling (yes, I'm serious), Junot Diaz, Chimamanda Adichie, Maya Angelou, Douglass Adams, Terry Pratchett, LM Montgomery. The books I read as a child still rule my mind.

Music? Anything from Fela, to Patsy Cline, to that awesome jam band that's still unsigned (for me right now that's The Grownup Noise).
The six things I could never do without
Six things that make my world a happier place:

1) Clean Air
2) Love
3) Volleyball
4) Respect
5) The Humanities
6) Food
On a typical Friday night I am
Recovering from the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I get most of my news from public radio.
You should message me if
You're comfortable around smart, confident women.
