My self-summary
I'm an irreverent goofball who loves to laugh and learn, and who may or may not find the time/will to fill this out more comprehensibly.

I like people. I see potential, both realized and latent, and it excites me. I am also friendly and, I'd like to think, plenty approachable, so if you're anywhere between mildly curious or hot-and-bothered-intrigued, just chat with me a bit, I enjoy the dance of personal and interpersonal discovery.
What I’m doing with my life
I'll let you know... just as soon as I figure that out myself.
I’m really good at
Oh, stuff and things.

I'm good at making people laugh, I'm good at strategy games, I am very good at finding ways to be amused, I excel at making silly faces and voices, I am a genius at being a goofy bastard, and a savant at not taking myself or the world too seriously, while simultaneously finding a way to better both in the meantime.
The first things people usually notice about me
Nowadays, my hair. I have long hair and am simultaneously male, much to the bafflement of some and the delight of others (both amusing me greatly)

Barring that, my roguish grin and the twinkle of mischief in my eye. My left eye. I've blinked and rubbed and washed, but the recalcitrant sparkly little thing just won't come out. It causes misunderstandings at times when I am witnessed looking at children.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books... oh my. I am a voracious reader, so an exhaustive list would be troublesome. I love reading about science and history, but there is a special, fluffy little space in my heart for Fantasy (epic, magical, and gritty all) and Science Fiction (hard science and space opera varieties most beloved), and I couldn't count the number of short stories I've read along these veins. To list a few favorite books in general: The Wheel of Time, Mistborn, Warbreaker, Ringworld, A Song of Ice and Fire, everything by Michael A. Stackpole, Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game books (though I've come to despise the author himself), Kushiel's Dart (plus series), The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Richard Feynman's short works as well as "Surely you're joking, Mr. Feynman!", Lawrence Krauss' "A Universe from Nothing", Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion and The Greatest Show on Earth, 'Guns, Germs, and Steel'.
Oh and back in the day I read the living crap out of the Animorphs series.

Movies: Ratrace, Amelie, the Avengers tie-in movies, Tom Yum Goong, Ong Bak, Sukiyaki Western Django, The Princess Bride, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Secretary, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Serenity, Quills, Sherlock Holmes, Boondock Saints, Zombieland, Sean of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Inglourious Basterds, Up, Public Enemies, just about everything Disney, Pacific Rim, the recent Planet of the Apes movies, Guardians of the Galaxy x10, aaand a load of other movies that aren't coming to mind during this particular stream of consciousness

Shows: Mythbusters, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Adventure time, Korra ... mmm I don't a whole lot of TV otherwise. I watch a couple series here and there with specific people as something to share with them, though. Oh, and I've been getting back into anime more these past couple seasons, though mostly via online binges.

Music: I love a plethora of songs from a wealth of genres, but I don't end up often liking everything a group does. A few notables: Mumford and Sons, The Good Lovelies, Fair to Midland, Daft Punk, Bare Naked Ladies, Metallica, Nightwish, Rammstein, Woodkid, The Birthday Massacre, Niyaz, Reel Big Fish, Cake, Red Hot Chili Peppers, aaand more that I can't think of, potentially due to my propensity for picking up a single song from a group and not really pursuing them further. I suppose you could call me musically ditsy, among other things.

Food: Food! Good kinds! I love spicy, savory/umami, complex, and then spicy some more. Sushi, Middle Eastern, Mexican, Traditional Chinese, Thai, etc.

I also like tea, wine, beer, and the taste of victory.
Six things I could never do without
-The Internet (for more than a few weeks)

-Books (read: all books) (hehe)

-Tea (I have this mate and chai oolong mix right now that is SO GOOD)

-Sex (preferably with consenting adults or otherwise my hand)

-Adventure (Random trips into the woods, spontaneous road trips, spontaneous booze-gatherings, sabbaticals from humanity, getting lost)

-Intellectual engagement of some sort (A bit of a cop-out here, but somewhere between science, philosophy, or even something geeky like strategies/builds for a game, a lack of this would drive me insane, whether I'm living in a cave or a house. Which wouldn't be so bad, my own mind is a decent conversationalist.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about

...No, really. One of the common "critiques" I get after some unexpected comment or another is that I "think too much," which is to say, quite furiously at every topic and event under my mental nose, as it were. No assumption, decision, or urge is left void of examination. Socrates famously said, at his trial for heresy, "The unexamined life is not worth living." I fully agree with this, especially on topics typically considered sacred or profane, and I think the criticism assumes that one's excess of thought outside of an accepted norm must come at the price of simply feeling or experiencing, or being decisive. This is not necessarily true, but rather more of a reactionary prejudice I think, and at least for my case I know that I leave room for feeling, experiencing, decisiveness, etc. and am quite happy with it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes playing DnD, sometimes drinking at a bar, sometimes in a real dungeon (no dice involved, but other tools welcome.)

Sometimes just spending a quiet evening at home with a book and a mug of tea.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm willing to admit plenty of things, but you've got to earn the really private ones. Earn it through running the gauntlet of... having a conversation with me.

Though perhaps here is a good place to reiterate the fact that I am Polyamorous and kinky.
You should message me if
You have a pulse and a brain and some variety of jiggly bits... (By that last bit I think I mean a sense of humor)

(P.S. It has come to my attention that "jiggly bits" sounds decidedly male-centric to some. To that I say: You aren't looking hard enough. Wiggle yourself and observe in a mirror, it might help XD )
