My self-summary
So this is Profile 3.1!

I suppose I could go all cliche and say "Oh, man, I'm terrible talking about myself" and write 6 paragraphs about myself but...well, they're called cliches for a reason ;)

Seriously, though, I'm just a simply complex guy looking for a PiC. Someone to be with and do everything we can together. More on that in a bit.

My biggest passions in life would definitely be stories and sports. Nothing can get my attention easier than a story. I'm a sucker for them. Could be in any medium. I have a library of books (of various genres). I stopped counting when I hit 1,000. Currently in the slow process of getting some real bookcases for them and getting them organized a bit (it's hard to read the Alex Cross series when they aren't lumped together :/ ). I also have a small (er) library of movies. Mostly DVDs cause I'm a cheap bastard and all...though my BluRay collection is slowly growing (Not that I'm replacing my DVDs...just supplementing them). And yes, I even have a tidy collection of video games from all sorts of consoles. Nothing to brag about but they're all fun and/or memorable in their own way.

As for sports, I'm a very active soccer lover. I've been hooked ever since the Dynamo played their first game in April of 2006 and have gotten more and more involved ever since. They are my first (soccer) love. I also follow the Dash, the US National team (men and women and youth) and Pachuca from Mexico (respect). For example: this past month I was pretty much MIA as I watched every single World Cup match (85% live), mostly at all sorts of bars and restaraunts around town. Including the insanity of Lucky's Pub downtown for the US matches. Good (expensive) times.

Besides soccer, my first true love was baseball, especially the Astros. My grandfather took me to so many games over the years in the Dome. Great memories. Great times. Even when they've been losing (a lot...a whole hell of a lot) the past....too many.....years. When the Aeros were around I was a STH for them and loved it. (Damn you Les!) Rockets and Texans games I usually catch on TV but if I can swing it I'll attend a couple games.

Another hobby would be astrophysics/biology and astronomy. Or science in general really but mostly those. I'm more interested in reading up on it but not so much the math. I know just enough math to be able to get the gist of what scientists put out there but not enough to understand without the text.

And I'm also a sports writer! I cover the Houston Dynamo for Fansided.com.
What I’m doing with my life
Same as most people: work, work, work. Make time for our passions and hobbies. Staying away from pets who smell (c'mon Sparky! Really? Eeewww...do that in another room! Silly Kitty...).

Looking for someone to enjoy all this fun with.
I’m really good at
Math. Seriously. I get it from my grandfather (he worked on the Apollo projects, amongst others, for NASA as a computer software engineer). Unlike him I don't get pleasure from doing the math. But I am good at it.

People have said I have a talent for prose. Perhaps. I do scribble a few lines from time to time. Nothing earth shattering but fun for me.

Giving advice. I've had lots of people ask my advice, especially on relationships. Seems to help them out as everyone has always ended up happier afterwords. :)

(which is funny 'cause it's been a while since I've been in one)
The first things people usually notice about me
Usually it's my hair but since I shave it for charity every summer, it doesn't get the chance to grow back much to it's awesome length. And, thanks to genetics, it's not nearly as red as it used to be. Le sigh...

I'm a big guy...6'3". Probably after that? Either that I'm always in sandals outside of work (always) or my eyes...and that they change color! Awesome :D
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: "I could no more pick a favorite star from the heavens." I love them all, even the horribly written ones. I've been addicted to the written word for as long as I can remember. I buy books and read and re-read them. I've got all sorts. Anything that catches my eye. Seriously. Fiction, Non Fiction. Sci-FI, SCI-Fi, Biographies, History, Science, Comics, etc.

Movies: My movie collection isn't as extensive as the books, but I do have a fair amount. Not nearly as diverse. A lot of guy flicks, but I do have plenty of horror, drama, foreign films (Spanish, French and British) and yes a few romances. What can I say? I'm a hopeless romantic at heart.

Food: Tex-Mex (the real stuff), Mexican, Italian, Chinese.

Show: Simpsons, Mythbusters, PawnStars, Law n Order (SVU, etc), History/H2 channels, Hell on Wheels, Walking Dead, Anything interesting on Discovery, Big Bag Theory, Community, and on and on.

Oh, and if you tell me you haven't seen Sherlock, I'll probably sit you down and we'll watch all 3 seasons of Sherlock ASAP. I'll make sure we have plenty of tissue.

I'm an 80s/90s kid and my music selection reflects this.
Six things I could never do without
My best friends
My truck (RIP)...now I have a car :/ Not as awesome....
More and more my phone these days...who knew smart phones were so useful?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Pondering whatever book I'm reading

How to survive the coming Zombie Apocalypse.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends on whether there is a game going on. Or whether I have to work in the morning. Could be nothing. Could be something. Could be out and about with friends or at home reading/watching a movie/hanging with roommate/etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a sucker for drama...
You should message me if
You are looking for a PiC. A partner to enjoy all things Life has to throw at us. We can even take turns catching said things! (you best go first...I'm terrible at catching things. More likely to bounce off my nose :/ ). Someone who would love to go enjoy some sporting events. Soccer, football, baseball. Whatever. Someone who loves a bit of ribbing (the verbal and ticklish kind).

If you're the type who thinks Andy Serkis should get an Oscar nod for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (what a mouthful). Or someone who loves movies in general and loves to talk about them. If you think Michael Bay is an idiot and hate him for what he's done to our childhood joys of Transformers and Ninja Turtles (why dude, why!?!?!)

If you're looking for someone to enjoy any of these things with, hit me up. I'm making a commitment to checking regularly and often. Let's do this!
