My self-summary
I'm an outgoing type...frequently aiming to make people laugh, love listening to good music almost as much as seeing it played live, and travel to places I can snorkel or scuba dive as much as possible. As with most people, I enjoy spending free time with friends and family...heading out for dinners, sipping wine flights or a quick beer. In the warmer months I like kayaking, paddle boarding, walks, etc. When it's cold, I like to hibernate or ski (I aim to hit the Rockies yearly but was remiss last year).
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying it...I have a great group of friends and family and assuredly the cutest dog ever. I am lucky to have a rewarding career working in schools that I enjoy greatly. Nonetheless, I very much treasure a work-life balance.
I’m really good at
Finding humor in everyday situations, chatting, listening, making and keeping friends, being entertained by others' quirks...or laughing at my own.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Bossypants, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, David Sedaris

Movies: Crazy, Stupid Love, Bridesmaids, Shawshank Redemption, Wedding Crashers, King of Kong

Music: Lots... The Head and the Heart, Avett Brothers, Brandi Carlile (not to be confused with Belinda), Ben Folds (with or without the 5), the classic rock my dad introduced me to when I was young. Oh, and Guns n' Roses will always have a special place in my heart, residing right next to New Kids on the Block.

Food: Anything with an excessive amount of cheese. Chocolate. Wine. Beer with flavor. Skyline chili.
Six things I could never do without
Weekend naps, friends/family, my dog, witty retorts, music, the internet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why people do the things they do...constant entertainment.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sipping wine in a variety of surroundings. Meeting friends for dinner or seeing a concert if a band I like is playing...Pretty much anything if I've got good company.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still have a VCR. (In my defense, it’s VHS, not Betamax and it is attached to a DVD player). Similarly antiquated, I still have a tape player (there’s no defense for this one--I just couldn’t part with all of those old mixed tapes!)
You should message me if
You are laid back with a clever sense of humor--I have a weakness for wit that catches me off-guard. In the event that this inspires too much expectation, I am always able to laugh quite heartily at my own expense.

You live in the city (of Chicago, that is)...or its close cousin, Evanston.
The two of us
