My self-summary
I'm originally from the Maritimes and moved out to Vancouver in 2004 to go to university. I just moved to Fort McMurray in April of 2012 to look for work. I do speak French, but typically only with family.
According to the Myers-Briggs Personality Test, I am an INTJ. Reading the results, its spot on.
Cleaning and organizing is soothing when I'm stressed or working through a problem. I have been known to clean up my friends homes when I find their mess distracting.
I love to cook and bake. My grandmother taught me well. Make it from scratch, or don't make it at all.
I'm focused and driven, never miss a deadline, but I do know how to have fun.
What I’m doing with my life
At the moment I'm working on site and staying in camp during my 14 days on. On my 7 days off I'll either be in Fort Mac or flying back to Vancouver to visit friends and to get some breathing space from winter/this town. I need to save up for a few years before I attempt to finish my education.
Working towards my Ph.D. in Psychology is currently on hold. For a career, I'm interested in trying to advance the field. Either Health Psychology, specifically dealing with chronic pain, or Analytical Psychology and developing better theories and practices for profiling. Thoughts?
I’m really good at
Analyzing people, Psychology, organizing, cleaning, making lists, and reading.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm confident and apparently act much older than I appear to be. Not sure how enjoying intelligent conversation makes me sound older, I know plenty of people my age who enjoy intellectual debates.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Tolkien will always be my favorite author, with Shakespeare a close second. I love to read the classics, fantasy, Psychology textbooks, and psychological thrillers. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli, Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis, and The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood are in my top ten.

Music: Classical, opera, jazz, rock, femme metal, goth rock, swing, and celtic punk. Current obessions are Mumford & Sons, Claude Debussy, Mt. Eden, Luciano Pavarotti, Within Temptation, Omnia, Queen, Nightwish, Dropkick Murphys, Michael Buble, Norah Jones, Metric, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and Tchaikovsky to name a few.

Movies: Action, Thrillers, Drama, Anime, Comedy, and some horror. I grew up without a tv, so I only started watching movies 10 years ago. So, I can't really appreciate or enjoy most movies from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's because of the terrible effects. A few favorite movies are The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Black Swan, The Prestige, Red, Bon Cop Bad Cop, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Phantom of the Opera, Repo! The Genetic Opera, Serenity.

TV: Firefly, Castle, Dollhouse, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, (obviously I'm a bit of a Joss Whedon fan) Once Upon a Time, Criminal Minds, House, Lie to Me, Dexter, Bones, Big Bang Theory, and How I Met Your Mother.

A few fav Internet things: The Guild, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog, Malukah on YouTube, Lindsey Stirling on YouTube, JennaMarbles on YouTube, and Simon's Cat.

Food: French, Italian, Japanese, Indian, Chinese, and Greek.

Video Games: Mass Effect 2 & 3, Assassin's Creed (2, Brotherhood, Revelations and 3), Dragon Age (Origins, Awakenings and 2), Kingdoms of Amalur, Folklore, and Final Fantasy 13. I realize I'm showing my nerdiness, but I'm okay with that. Obviously I love RPG's.
The six things I could never do without
1. My intelligence
2. My sarcastic sense of humor
3. My phone (which has tons of ebooks and music)
4. Basic essentials to keep you alive
5. My determination to overcome any obstacle
6. My ability to always choose logic in a logic vs. emotion conflict
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm uncomfortable being the center of attention and do not like talking about myself. I prefer to listen, fade into the background and observe.
You should message me if
You can carry an intelligent conversation.
