My self-summary
I'm a young professional living in the St. Louis area who is
currently trying to fit himself into a box on a website. I currently work as a Network Administrator at Mastercard, I own my own home on the Hill in St. Louis. Looking to find a great person to spend time with.

I'm a self-described geek, and while that's an important piece of my personality (I attend 2-3 conventions a year), I have a lot more going on than that. I love experiencing new things, and I try to live a pretty well rounded life. I like to get outside when the weather's nice. I try to travel outside the state at least once a year (I've been to Holland, England, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, and Japan to name a few). I stay relatively healthy and get to the gym a few times a week. I've discovered a greater enjoyment of the outdoors and have visited 6 National Parks in 3 years. I spend a lot of time with friends checking out the various festivals, conventions, and museums in the city. I also try to spend time with the family, and generally attempt to be a good role model for my younger sisters.

I'd describe myself as a goofball with a romantic streak (think Stanley Ipkiss in the Mask). I try to make the best of most situations. I love making people laugh, sometimes at my own expense. I love a good story, and I read like it's going out of style. I also write when the mood strikes, mostly for a creative outlet. I'm always looking for something new to learn, and have been known to lose an hour or 3 on wikipedia or various youtube educational channels.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working as a Network Administrator at MasterCard. It's a challenging job with lots of opportunities, and there's rarely a day that's boring.

Some current going-ons...goings on? Things that are happening in my life right now

- This year (2016) I went on an amazing trip to Mt. Raininer and Olympic National Parks
- Saturday Kickball
- I made a little girl's day by dressing up as Captain America at a recent convention. It made me feel pretty heroic.

More bulletins as events warrant.
I’m really good at
I'm good at writing, I'm good at singing, I'm good at making people laugh. I'm good at saving money, I'm good at thinking big, and I'm good at coming up with lists about what I'm good at.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been complimented on my hair, I've been complimented on my dimples, and I had a girl once compliment me for having a long torso. I'd like to think it's my soulful eyes and dashing smile. You tell me
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've trimmed most of these categories down and tried to give a pretty balanced view of my interests. I had to stop myself in a few places (books, for instance) because if I didn't, things would get out of hand...

Books: I can inhale books when I'm in the right mindset. Genres include: Sci Fi, Fantasy, Alternate History, Psychology, Sociology, among others. Specific books that I love are: Ender's Game, Harry Potter series, LOTR series, Ready Player One, Tipping Point, Dune, Without Remorse, and American Gods.

I'll be honest, that section could likely take up its own small book

Movies: Independence Day, Ace Ventura, Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Inception, Marvel Universe, Star Wars (originals), Ink, Indiana Jones, Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, LotR, The Professional, Fifth Element, Brick, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Good Will Hunting, Labyrinth. Also love me a good documentary

Shows: Doctor Who, How I Met your Mother, Sherlock, House of Cards, Attack on Titan, Firefly, Supernatural, Daredevil, Jessica Jones

Music: Black Keys, Mumford and Sons, The Exies, AFI, Lana Del Rey, System of a Down, Neon Trees, Foster the People, The Neighbourhood, Kongos, Nightwish, Evanescence, Green Day, Sugarcult, Foo Fighters, Parov Stelar, Lindsey Sterling

Food: Sushi, Pasta, Meat'n'Potatoes, something new

Youtube channels: vlog brothers, minute physics, Sci Show, Veritasium, Crash Course, Nerdwriter, CGP Gray, PBS Idea Channel
The six things I could never do without
My family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lots of random things run around in my head at any given moment. What am I doing this weekend? What country do I want to visit next? I wonder how easy it would be to learn how to juggle knives? Where's the nearest Emergency Room?
On a typical Friday night I am
I could be doing anything. I could be on call and stuck at home, I could be out singing Karaoke, I could be out exploring St. Louis, I could be out of the state, I could be out of the country, I could be out of my mind.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was raised by a single mother, and I'd like to think I turned out fine
You should message me if
- You aren't looking for someone who is religious. I can be spiritual, but I won't be religious.
- You have never said anything akin to "Reading is boring/I don't like to read". Those statements make me a sad panda.
- You approve of nerdy/geeky types and/or are one yourself
- You consider yourself a fun, intelligent, curious, or otherwise engaging individual and would like to meet someone similar.
- You find this video as interesting as I do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9PiPlRuy6E
- You are Tina Fey

That last one is obviously a joke. Tina Fey isn't on this website, right Tina? Right? Message me if I'm right.
