My self-summary
I'm honestly all over the place interest wise, to the point I've noticed its hard to invite all of my friends together because they all think the others are weird. haha.

I'm on here looking for whatever really, if you want to go check out a new restaurant i'm up for that, if you want to go hiking or something outdoorsy that's awesome too. Dates are good too, but its not necessary.

I graduated from Indiana University in Chinese language, anthropology and religious studies almost 2 years ago >.<. I visited the Bay Area for a few months moved back, lived in Korea for a year, lived in Taiwan for 2 years, finished Grad school, now back in Asia .

The rest of the profile I've not updated in awhile, so chronologically this thing may be a bit off. just a disclaimer :-)

“The splendor of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not rob the little violet of it’s scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its lovliness ~Therese of Lisieux

What I’m doing with my life
Well, As stated above school and more school is my life. I'm trying to broaden my social horizons, but sometimes doing well in school tends to interfere which majorly sucks. Also, I'm big into meditation/self-introspection (more philosophical than religious, although I do borrow heavily from Buddhist/Taoist/Hindu thoughts as well as science, like trying to even understand the universe/parallel universes/string theories). Basically I do this to help make myself a more centered, adjusted, and stress-free individual.

I've also taken a certain fondness towards downhill skiing lately and would like to learn more and mountain biking is pretty damn fun (both these sports I'm pretty new at).

"Every religion is true one way or another. It is true when understood metaphorically. But when it gets stuck in its own metaphors, interpreting them as facts, then you are in trouble." Joseph Campbell
I’m really good at
i like to cook a lot (i'm partial to making curries, mostly indian and burmese influenced) and do some painting/drawing on occasion, keeping things neat, and decorating oh and worrying too much about my ideal future job (as in what the hell it'll be) haha :-)
....honestly i'm just a big academic (folks have even called me an academic snob) so i don't really have time to get really good at things besides writing papers >.< (In other words "I'm a jack of all trades and master of none")
The first things people usually notice about me
People usually are drawn to my hair for some reason...to the the extent of "Jimmy's sexy and has awesome hair" shouted at me across campus. But I really hope that people notice my smile and general happiness/friendliness most of all.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The six things I could never do without
Academic Stimulation, Good Friends, Family, Good Food, Tea, and my passport

Jogging/yoga fits in there somewhere too...maybe i'll consider that a good friend
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my future, what I should do with it, if a boyfriend fits in or the other way around? Also, I think a lot about the true nature of reality...and what exactly that even means...

I also wonder why people on cupid who claim to be happily dating are even on a dating site. I wonder if maybe they're really looking for the the next best thing?

When we yield to discouragement it is usually because we give too much thought to the past and to the future. ~Therese of Lisieux
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't have typical Friday nights. I just do random things, sometimes I'll stay in sometimes I'll go out to random events my friends are into, like concerts, bars, some kind of BDSM gathering haha (not into it, just go to support friends. :-) I come from the land of Kinsey Institute).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really like certain kinds of Gospel music especially Etta James' rendition Swing Low Sweet Chariot...I also like bluegrass

I'm secretly a Wasian. That does not mean Rice Queen in the least bit. I've been to Asia and had Chinese men pawing at me only because of my blonde hair, flattering at first, but quickly leads to feeling objectified and less than human, so I know how it goes. I simply like Asian food and learn about Asian cultures. I probably feel more comfortable in a Japanese and Chinese grocery than most others. Shrimp Chips ya!

Lastly, I have little fantasies of the bajillion spiders in my house all gathering at midnight and dangling from the ceiling waltzing with each other to Danse Macabre. (this is based off reality though, I did catch them all partying in the bathroom one night)

明月何皎皎 照我儸牀幃 憂愁不能寐 攬衣起排徊 各行雖云樂 不如早旋歸 出戶獨彷徨 愁思當告誰 引領還入房 淚下沾裳衣 if you can relate to her :-(
