I have a pretty good sense of humor and will laugh at just about anything, from the extremely witty, to the extremely absurd. Just about the only thing I don't find amusing is humor that is needlessly mean (though a good ribbin' never killed anyone).
I figure a dating site is as good an avenue as any to meet new people I really identify with. You can encounter more decent conversationalists in five minutes than you could in five weeks at some watering hole. Whether they WILL actually converse with you or not is a different story, but one no different than at said watering hole.
I'm also good at getting a jokes. I'm often the first (or only) person to laugh at something funny.
I'm also humble. I'm the humblest person in the world.
That last one was a joke. *rimshot*
Oh, and as far as parlor tricks go: I can solve a Rubik's Cube in a couple of minutes.
I also enjoy talk radio (e.g. Howard Stern, Kevin Smith, Adam Carolla, etc.).
Favorite movies? Comedies mostly with the occasional action or horror flick: "Clerks," "Office Space," "Idiocracy," "Aliens," "Fight Club," "The Big Lebowski," Edgar Wright's Cornetto Trilogy, and just about every Coen brothers movie ever made (to name a few). Oh, and Rifftrax commentaries.
Favorite shows? A lot of premium channel stuff, as well as shows on AMC and Comedy Central. Recently it's been shows like: Mad Men, The Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, South Park, Tosh.0, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report (R.I.P.), Real Time with Bill Maher, etc.
Authors? George R.R. Martin, David Mitchell, Michael Crichton, Robert Coover, etc. Mostly sci-fi/fantasy stuff, but also literature that's more generally post-modern. Once upon a time I was really into Robert Jordan and Anne Rice, but I eventually burned out on them.
I also love board games; serious board games, not that "Toys R Us" Monopoly dicefest Ameritrash crap.
And I also love stand-up comedy. Chris Rock, Lewis Black, Patton Oswalt, Daniel Tosh, Louis C.K., Eddie Izzard, Ricky Gervais, Billy Connolly, Mitch Hedberg, Dave Attell, Ron White, George Carlin, Dane Cook (admittedly he's 90% delivery)... The list goes on and on and on.
2. my sense of humor
3. money (enough to live on anyway)
4. a laptop
5. an mp3 player (when I'm away from my laptop)
6. decent water pressure?
If you ARE interested, feel free to show some curiosity! Ask me a question or two; pick my brain! Help me keep the conversation going! Or, if you don't like writing messages, we could try meeting up in the real world where we don't have to worry about composing proper sentences.
