My self-summary
I'm laid back and I think honesty is the best way to keep drama to a minimum. I'm easy going and easy to talk to. I'm attractive, but not high maintenance. I'm intelligent, but like to have silly, meaningless fun as much as deep, philosophical conversations. I make a good road-trip, adventure partner...let's just throw a dart at the map. I like exploring new places and learning new things.

I tell people I'm ready to meet my partner in crime. Is this a Bonnie & Clyde or Mickey & Mallory crazy, passionate, "having each other's back" kinda thing? Absolutely! Only without the violence and getting shot at the end part. :-( It also means I'm looking for the person who takes the good with the bad...Someone to be a ridiculously flawed human being with...someone who can laugh at themselves and help me do the same if I ever forget that flawed human part.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a great job, my own home and an awesome son. These things all take time and attention, but I like to balance them with fun and spontaneity. I love to hang out with friends, cook-outs, trips to the beach, boating, live music, festivals...I'm open to new things and meeting new people. I've only been divorced a few months, but it was a paperwork formality - I have been separated for over 4 years.

I enjoy time with my son, but also enjoy the shared custody arrangement I have with his father. I love taking him to the beach, showing him new places, watching his mind expand every day. In his precise 11 year old words..."Mom, I think it's time you started dating." So, with limited time, here I am. Hoping to meet someone of substance, not just a hook-up.
I’m really good at
Playing hostess. I love entertaining people. I like to cook and have friends over for dinner. Why is it when people get together everyone always winds up in the kitchen?

Being the peace-keeper, a moderator. I tend to be the person who gets people of opposite opinions to come together in the middle. I think it's because I can see all sides of a situation.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile...which I do MOST of the time.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like books by Carl Hiaasen and Ann Rice. I like to read, but it takes me a long time to finish a book...just because of the limited amount of uninterrupted time I have.

Movies...I'm into just about everything, but I prefer either suspenseful, thought provoking movies (I LOVE a twisted ending) or mindless, silly comedy. And then of course there are the classics like The Big Chill and Goonies.

Music...all kinds, depends on my mood. I'm mostly into acoustic, blues, 80's and rock and I like some tribal and techno depending on my mood. Some favorites are jack johnson, dmb, bb king, pearl jam, chili peppers, daughtry, pink, nickelback, dead can dance, matisyahu, depeche mode, bob marley and van morrison. This year's concerts have been The Whalers, Dave Matthews, Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox 20 and Pink.

Food...I like a variety, Thai, steak, Italian, Mexican. For me food is all about the atmosphere and the company you're enjoying it with.
Six things I could never do without
My son
My friends & family
A sense of purpose
Physical contact with the opposite sex
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My next weekend getaway or vacation spot
On a typical Friday night I am
With my son....something fun...swimming, movies, boating, fishing, or curled up on the couch watching Nat Geo.

Without my son...happy hour with friends, cooking out or eating out together, heading out for a weekend road trip or boat trip
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still believe in love.
You should message me if
You're fun, intelligent and enjoy meeting new people. You're interested in dating and legally available to do so. (Poly, open relationships, complicated marriages, etc. are not for me at this point in my life.)

Oh yeah...and that "replies selectively" shouldn't keep you from saying "hi". Somehow I don't think messages like "Whatzup" or "Let's hook up babe" deserve a reply.
