My self-summary
I think this whole profile is a pretty good self-summary, so in this space I just want to say that if we were to meet in person, it will not be awkward, no matter what. Even if you hate me immediately we can be like "Well, sorry about that, I'll be on my way then" and you won't get a bunch of creepy follow-up messages. I have female friends who use this site so trust me, I understand what you're going though here.

That said, I don't think we'll have the problem of you hating me immediately -- I'm a confident, friendly guy who knows that I am lucky as hell to be happy and have a good job and good friends.
What I’m doing with my life
I have two jobs right now, so I'm busy but I always keep enough time to have a personal and social life.

I'm the Executive Director of the Mercer County Democratic Committee, as well as the Confidential Aide to the Mercer County Executive.

You can probably tell these jobs are in politics and government. If you don't care about politics AT ALL that is totally fine with me, we never have to discuss it, a lot of my close friends don't care about that stuff. If you love politics that's great too -- except if you're like a hard-core conservative, then we probably just won't get along.
I’m really good at
It is kind of hard to balance modesty with trying to impress people on this site! That's something I'm NOT good at, I guess.

I think I am talented; I'm very good at my job, and I usually achieve the goals I set for myself.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm funny, but that is ridiculously hard to prove on the internet. You can hold me to this if we meet in person.

So I guess besides that, it's that I'm pretty gregarious and have a loud voice. I promise that this not all a code for "obnoxious." My voice is deep and carries far, it's a blessing and a curse.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: What It Takes, Blue Blood, Newjack, Master of the Senate, A Season on the Brink, the Miracle of St. Anthony. I love creative non-fiction.

Movies: Quiz Show, The Godfather, Gone Baby Gone, Pan's Labyrinth, Back to the Future, Drive, American Movie, Man on Wire, Boogie Nights ... I'll have to keep thinking about this one.

TV Shows: Arrested Development, The Office [UK -- but we don't have to argue, I think it's usually just decided by which you saw first and got attached to], Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Luther, Futurama, Darkplace, The Americans, Breaking Bad.
Six things I could never do without
This is a hard one. It's easy to say "friends and family" or go the (un)funny route and say "food and water," but I feel like you're supposed to be revealing something about yourself. I'll give it a shot, kind of in terms of my favorite things:

The UNC Tar Heels (college basketball)
Feeling like I have a goal to work towards.
Playing H.O.R.S.E.
Planning and executing pranks (beautifully well-done pranks are like, my favorite freaking thing in life.)
Michael Jordan
I can be very serious when it comes to my job but I need time to have fun and get in adventures while I'm still at this age where I have freedom and choices but not too much overwhelming responsibility.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
One, like I said, is pranks. There should be something "elegant" about pranks that leaves bystanders and even the prankee impressed. A good prank shouldn't actually hurt anyone, and should leave authority figures grumbling publicly but chuckling privately.

I also spend a lot of time thinking about my future goals. A pet peeve of mine is pretentiousness (also passive-aggressiveness) so I'm trying to avoid sounding like that, but I really enjoy envisioning myself achieving a goal and then trying to force that vision into reality. I don't say stuff like this in real life by the way, I guess unless you asked me this exact question.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually either in or out with friends. If I feel like it, I'm perfectly willing to forget it's Friday and just do nothing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still miss my dog, who died five years ago. We had him from when I was four to when I was nineteen.
You should message me if
You're nice and smart!
