One of the other things I like to do especially when it is warm outside is to go for long walks. Walking and talking or even thinking is one of the things that I truly enjoy. I also have to say hiking somewhere where I can pitch a hammock and enjoy a good book or more good conversation is also pretty wonderful as well.
One of the things that I am really passionate about is education which makes some sense since I spent two years in MN getting my masters in it. One of the neat things about my masters program is that we focused a lot on learning by doing instead of the more traditional methods and this is the type of education that I want to practice.
Being so passionate about education is one of the reasons I like to talk to people like I said earlier. I love to learn and if someone knows something that I do not then I want to listen and learn what they can teach me. The same idea applies if someone has a different opinion about something than I do. For me being able to have a healthy debate/exchange of ideas is one of the best ways to pass the time. Also I am a very open minded person and a good listener which means even if I disagree with someone I can still respect them and their beliefs.
I wish there was a way to put Christian spiritual on this because yes I am a Christian. However, I also accept all other belief systems as equally valid, and actually am open to exploring how other religions see the divine in the amazingly beautiful world we live in.
I am also a really good friend, I know that sounds a little arrogant but it is true. I am a very good listener and try very hard to be there for my friends even if they are thousands of miles away, and after working at camp for a couple of years that is the case with several of them.
My favorite movie is by far Forest Gump.
Books: Hunger Games, Divergent, anything by Brian Sanderson, bonus points if you have heard of one of my favorite series Emberverse, also a big Game of Thrones of fan. Also of late have gotten into a lot of David Weber's book series. When I do not want to read sci fi, I tend to go for nature writings or philosophy. Johnathan Kozol's Savage Inequality is still one of the major reasons I got into education.
I will say though that my favorite show on right now is definitely Big Bang Theory, Agents of Shield or Scorpion, but I do spend time watching Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and MASH because they are three of my all time favorite shows. Also enjoy Castle and Once Upon a Time.
Laptop/Cell phone (mostly to keep in contact with the first 2)
Time alone in nature to think
Kids, no I don't have any but working with them just makes my life better.
My imagination, I have often said I have written several books in my life, I just have never taken the time to take them from my head and put them on paper.
2. You believe that the best things in life aren't things. I have dedicated my life to teaching and working with kids and trust me there are days that their smiles and energy make me want to tell my boss that he does not have to pay me because no amount of money would be equal to that moment when you help a kid overcome their fears or find out something about themselves for the first time.
3. You made it this far and nothing has sent you running for the hills and trust me as someone who has lived in the hills it can be scary by yourself at night. But seriously if you are still reading then you probably were at least intrigued and who knows maybe we just exchange a few funny emails or we become friends. However there is no way to know if someone can be the person for you if you don't take a risk.
So that is really it if you are willing to take a risk that you might find a cool friend or something more you should definitely message me and see what happens.
