My self-summary
I am a laid open-minded, loving and thoughtful guy who thinks of others before myself (often to my own dextriment) to the point of taking on more work then I should. I'm a avid gamer and have shifted most of my focus to PC gaming with steam, but I have also been focusing on learning Unity in the hopes of becoming a game developer in the future, making games that I love and want such as Strategy and RPGs. I mostly play RPGs, Strategy and Point-and-click adventure types that most big companies sadly have no interest in making.

Skype name: Aron.Marczylo
Steam Name: overfiend_87 (renamed to Grognard_87 but can never be found for some reason)

I am considered a geek and proud of it being a fan of comics, retro video games, anime, manga but I also have a love for ancient history (especially Ancient Egypt, Greek and Roman), mythology of all types and a interest in the paranormal (aliens, ghosts and ect, but also keep a healthy skeptical mind). I'm very easy to talk to and often try to break the ice with terrible, cringe-worthy jokes, but I am also always interested in intelligent conversation on recent events in the world, opinions on current look of the world and friendly debates on conflicting issues.

Currently in a relationship, but I have no problem meeting new friends as I find you can never have too many friends and I enjoy being close with multiple people.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I am employed at One Stop at one of their shops in Millbrook area where I am your typical customer service advisor where I enjoy helping the team with tasks around the shop. I'm also starting to focus on learning C# programming through Unity and after a recent revelation about myself I wish to go down the indy video-game developer route once I save enough money for various costs and once I gain enough knowledge.

So far I've created a few games through the course and posted them on my new Itch.io page where I'll be posting future prototypes where I try to work out coding for various mechanic ideas I have for other games: https://grognard87.itch.io/
I’m really good at
I find that I am very good at getting along with new people and carrying on a conversation with interesting nuggets of information.

I can very easily understand what it feels like to walk in the shoes of someone who has suffered things I could never possibly imagine, as if it happened to me personally, but at the same time never claim to have gone through a similar experience unless I did in real life.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am quite animate when I speak as I use my hands and if I really like someone or something I'm almost impossible to shut up. I also have a posh way of speaking and half the time it comes out as a mix between upper or middle class.

Also depending on the light my dark blue eyes, but mostly my long hair and all obvious physical traits...not sure what else to say really *shrugs*
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything written by David Gemmel and R.A.Salvatore as well as a few others. I'm a slow reader, but I'd like to start reading a few others like Isaac Asimov or any suggestions.

Comics: Mostly superhero ones, I'm a big fan of classics and own Watchmen and Batman: The Killing Joke but I've also started tracking down some Paul Dini graphic novels. I don't buy individual comics because it's likely to get lost in my room or my cat or dog might tear it up. I also quite like the series Exiles, however i've heard it went down hill later.

TV Shows: I love all kinds of comedy, even really old ones like Alf, The Munsters, Dad's Army or 'Allo 'Allo but I have been watching The Big Bang Theory, Futurama, true blood, Warehouse 13, dollhouse, Game of Thrones and Enjoying British shows like Argumental.

I also collect old kids TV shows such as Captain Scarlet, Batman: TAS, Batman Beyond, Sonic SatAM, Count Duckula but I do enjoy sci-fi greats like Farscape, Firefly, Star Trek and Blakes 7. I'm also going to start watching Battlestar Galactica (the new series) and Babylon 5 (I haven't seen it all the way through).

Anime: Recently got back into anime and I've been watching lots of different shows on Crunchyroll. I've become a big fan of Rokka and the Six Braves, but waiting for the new season is taking sooo long.

Crunchyroll Username: http://www.crunchyroll.com/user/Grognard_87

Movies: I have a even bigger collection of movies, but I'll keep this short. I'm a big fan of comedys and I'm a huge fan of Jackie Chan too. I also have a collection of some awesome old movies like The Day The Earth Stood Still, The Explorers, The Last Starfighter and many more.

Animated (not anime): Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker, Futurama: Bender's Big Score, The Iron Giant, The Secret of Nihm, Titan A.E. and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (Cheated a bit there, huh?)

Anime: Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Kiki's Delivery Service, Vampire Hunter D and many, many TV series.

Others (cause I'm lazy): Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Rush Hour (trilogy), Mall Rats, Dogma, Total Recall, Commando, Conan The Barbarian, Donnie Darko, Unbreakable, Mystery Men, Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and many others. Just ask if I have it and I probably do.

I have a mixed genre. I got into metal at school which seems to be the normal evolution from Rock and Roll which I was raised on (Elvis, The Beetles and so on) but I like all kinds of music from most bands so my taste is quite caries going from Korn to Tenacious D or Lordi to Weird Al. Plus I love Fall Out Boy, Tom Jones and Crash Test Dummies. Not to mention music from The Phantom of the Opera.

Also send me a message if you want to ask me if I like a certain band, tv series and ect which I havn't mentioned or even geek over stuff I have mentioned. I'm easy on either opinion.

I'm quite picky with my food, but I'm willing to try new things. Chocolate is something I absolutely love and if you have chocolate in your hand right now I'm going to jump through the screen and get it!

Chocolate is a real love and almost a drug-like addiction to the stuff, however I've had to cut back on that for my diet, which is indeed working.
The six things I could never do without
1. Internet: I often go online just about every day either doing something constructive like taking part in my courses online and possibly doing some research into a new subject that has taken my interest or wasting time on Facebook, youtube and play through my large collection of video games.

2. Writing: I enjoy creative writing, though now I focus that more into the game design area as I write up some interesting game ideas in my personal form of a miniature design document.

3. Video Games: My favourite pass-time, but as I learn about thinking like a game designer I sit down and focus more on the many working parts with how the story, gameplay and visual feedback work together and how in good games they compliment each other whilst in bad ones they do not work to it's advantage.

4. Company: Despite often being alone in my room at home, I love being around people where we get to enjoy ourselves generally watching movies, TV shows, anime or even just someone to talk to about the deeper and more meaning things in life.

5. Chocolate: I have quite the sweet tooth. I try to cut back, but I need to have a good sugar fix.

6. Glasses: I struggle with distance and though I am fine with reading fine-prints, I am terrible at making out the details of anything a certain distance away from me. Also I've grown so used to them that I feel naked without them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Depending on my mood it can be a variety of things. If I'm in a more positive mood I'll be thinking about something I'm looking forward to and want to get finished, but if I'm in a darker mood I think about the terrible bullying in school, the many lost oppitunities and where my life might be now if I took another path.

I try not to focus on the last one as trying to consider what may or may not have happened can drive you insane. Not to mention I don't like the idea of ever altering time as I've seen The Butterfly Effect and don't want to think about how many people's lives I might make worse by altering things.
On a typical Friday night I am
When I'm not working I'm either online either surfing the internet, playing RPGs on play-by-post forums or even playing games on Steam.

Also you can catch me online either on steam or Skype or even Facebook, however Steam you are more likely to get a response from.

note: Please, tell me when you are adding me as I'm quite easily spooked and would like to hear where you got my username from due to past events involving ghosts of the past, so-to-speak.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once had a crush on Avril Lavagne when I was in school. Think it was the whole rocker/punk look, but at the same time I really did enjoy her music too.
You should message me if
You spot some similar interests between us, you think we'd get along.

You want to ask something in reference to any of the stuff I've posted in my profile?

You want to a loyal and dedicated friend willing to sit down and listen to everything you say with an open mind.

Or you're just as crazy as I am :D

I reply very often so if I don't get back to you don't take it as an offence, but it usually means I'm either AFK or haven't come up with anything to say.
