My self-summary
I've been stuck in the far North burbs for years due to poor real-estate timing, but am finally moving in town - Cabbagetown / Reynoldstown to be specific.

I'm incredibly excited, finally rejoining society in what should be a far more compatible demographic. I'm looking forward to finding new places and meeting new people (I've already got a list of restaurants I need to hit). Other goals are reactivating myself through increased physical activity and social interaction, hopefully leading to being generally happier and more fulfilled.
I'm very much looking forward to finding new collaborators and increasing my commitment for my creative (film, game, writing, editing) interests.

I'm pretty easy-going.

I like shoes.

I enjoy theater and was a season subscriber to the Broadway in Atlanta series at the Fox until their schedule totally sucked. I'm still seeing Kinky Boots though.

I don't care about any of the SportsBalls, although I'm a huge Olympics geek. I plan to go to South Korea for the next Winter Games.

I keep coming up INTP for those who care about such things.
What I’m doing with my life
I make my living from boring computer systems architecture shit but have to admit it's pretty great for a day job.

However, my long-term goal is to work in the entertainment industry. I've written, produced and directed some short films and have several feature specs in various stages of completion.

I hope to shoot a web series this summer. Go ahead - mark your calendar :)
I’m really good at
Self-deprecation. Geography minutia. Evaluating social situations that don't directly involve me. Empathy. Troubleshooting. That thing with the stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have absolutely no clue, perhaps I should conduct a survey.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I voraciously devour culture, pop and otherwise. This will be a long list, as current as I last checked this section.

I like film; I love film; I want to make films.
My influences include Steven Soderbergh, David Fincher, David Lynch, Whit Stillman, Spike Jonze, Neil Labute, Stephen Spielberg, Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock, Woody Allen, Stanley Kubrick, Rian Johnson, Coen Brothers, Hughes Brothers, the Wachowskis, David Cronenberg, Darren Aronofsky, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Guest, PT Anderson, Wes Anderson, Richard Linklater, and on and on. I like good movies, bad movies, and weird movies. I watch popular movies, foreign movies, and old movies. I break them down, I rip them apart, and when something blows me away I despair that I'm never going to be that amazing.

Music: I'm still into 90's alt rock (everyone loves what they listened to in high school / college, right?).
Overall it'd be easier to list what I Don't like. I enjoy rap (Kanye, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Outkast, Ludicris), rock, EDM, pop, indie (Roger Clyne, The Hold Steady) ...pretty much anything but country, jam bands, or world music.
I've got a weakness for emo (Panic! at the disco, Dashboard Confessional, Death Cab, Fall Out Boy) and cheesy pop (Britney, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift).

TV is just as broad. I'm in a position to watch TV during some of my workday, so aside from candid reality shows I'm probably watching it.
Old Stuff I Love: West Wing, Deadwood, Veronica Mars, Friends, The Wire, Columbo, News Radio, Murder, She Wrote, Seinfeld, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, Happy Endings, Twin Peak, L&O:OG
Current Stuff: The Amazing Race, The Americans, Broad City, Inside Amy Schumer, Game of Thrones, Black(ish), Silicon Valley, Bates Motel, UnReal, Bosch, Fargo, You're the Worst.

In all that other spare time I read - here's a few authors from my Kindle library: Joe Abercrombie, Daniel Abraham, Margaret Atwood, Raymond Chandler, Arthur C Clarke, Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, Justin Cronin, Jeffrey Deaver, David Eggers, Alex Garland, Lev Grossman, Peter F Hamilton, Robin Hobb, Charlie Huston, Stephen King, J.A. Konrath, Elmore Leonard, George R.R. Martin, Jack McDevitt, China Mieville, Naomi Novik, T.A. Pratt, Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, David Sedaris, Charlie Stross, David Foster Wallace, Margaret Weis (and Hickman), Tom Wolfe.
The six things I could never do without
Assuming Maslow's needs are met,

The Internet
Hearing / Seeing Good Stories
Comfortable sheets
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Unusual murders...
Meet cutes...
Dark secrets & bitter regrets...
... I write things.

Yeah, I know that was super twee & pretentious...I haven't thought of anything better yet.
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching movies or reading or hanging out with friends, however I'm making a commitment to force myself to go out and be more social.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't really have a lot of secrets and tend to tell people whatever they might want to ask. Perhaps a lack o' shame?
You should message me if
I sound interesting and you want to know more.
