My self-summary
Most of this is the "get to know you" part of dating, I think. However, in the interest of not wasting time... I'm happily married in a polyamorous relationship, with this fine lady here: http://www.okcupid.com/profile/ArañaAisling. Yes, I know, I left the "g" off the end of my profile name, and OKC won't let me edit it unless I A-list upgrade. *doh*.

I am looking to meet new, interesting people. I suppose dating is a good word for it, but it's not a requirement... friends are good too. I am not seeking to leave my marriage, so don't try to get that to happen. I am a relatively stable person who likes to have fun and also likes to have quiet times on occasion. I enjoy new experiences and getting to know new people. I'm an artist (don't run). I paint, used to be an actor, still do costume design, and spin poi like a mad fiend. I like the outdoors (kayaking, hiking, canoeing type stuff). I also enjoy dancing, live music, indoors, and various other pursuits like chess and cooking. Basically there isn't much I won't try once, and if I like it there is a very good chance I'll find a way to try it again.
What I’m doing with my life
Living with my wife and family. Being a stay at home dad. I am a costume designer and a massage therapist.

Plotting world dominance in a laid back, probably too relaxed sort of way.
I’m really good at
Thinking, learning, massage, spinning poi, costuming, sewing, meditating, singing, and I guess probably some other stuff but this category makes me a little uncomfortable. *looks around self consciously*

ooh! Dissecting arguments. Dropping fact bombs onto annoying internet memes.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair and my height seem the things people most often comment on at first. That and also that I am quiet at first meeting, but open up later.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot of books, and I like many of them. Favorite authors include (in no particular order) Neil Gaiman, Robert Jordan, Terry Pratchet, Thich Nhat Hanh, Terry Brooks, C.S Friedman, and Paolo Coelho.

I really can't stand most T.V., although I find Better Off Ted makes me laugh more than most sitcoms. I am a huge Dr. Who fan, and loved the Torchwood crossovers.

I see movies occasionally. Recently, The Invention of Lying, In Time, Inception, and The Avengers have been good for me. Historically, I really like Mirror Mask, The Fountain, The Princess Bride, all three Lord of The Rings movies, The Cell, Being John Malkovich, Most Any Monty Python Movie (I used caps because I'm clever, see?), and some others that I'm probably forgetting. Things that just occurred to me that I want to add... Requiem for a Dream. I hate having to justify to people why it is such an amazing movie when all they think they saw was drugs and a dildo scene. I think I may try and start a conversation that way at a bar sometime, just to see what happens.

I like almost all kinds of music, I enjoy classical, jazz (classic and modern), rock, metal, industrial, rap, techno (inc dubstep, trance, triphop, etc.), reggae, country... you get the idea...

FOOD! umm.. yeah, it's good. I like Italian best, but that never stopped me from enjoying a different kind of food... ethnic food is good... Greek is nommy. If it's meat, I prefer it cooked. Even so, I like the occasional sushi dinner as well.

Also, I think it should go in here that I'm a huge fan of live performance. I LOVE Cirque, enjoy a good theatrical show or musical, and have lots of fun at burlesque shows lately.
Six things I could never do without
It's hard for me to imagine something I "can't do without", outside of things like oxygen, food, water, love, experience, and sensation. There are certainly a lot of other things that are VERY important to me, but I'm pretty adaptable.

Can I add musculoskeletal system? I mean, that's 7... I might be breaking the rules... will OKC implode as a result? LET'S FIND OUT!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
All sorts of different things. It really depends on the day.

It's really more relevant that I pretty much never stop thinking. Except perhaps during traffic emergencies, deep meditation, and orgasms.
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday nights tend to find me at home... Saturday nights, on the other hand... are redacted. :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I don't want to admit many more private things than I just did to a bunch of random strangers. If you have something you want to know, message me.
You should message me if
You have something interesting to say.

Also if you want to talk to my wife, please message her, not me. We're all adults here, folks. If she likes you we'll probably talk eventually, but I am not the gateway to her, nor is she the gateway to me.
