My self-summary
I am working on a book. Many people won't be interested in this, but it is an epic project. I think most people are tied up with "an ever-changing landscape of communication between 140 character tweets, LOLs and ROTFLs, [where] we’ve lost our ability to communicate, altogether."

I just moved back to Seattle into a new place and am ending my LTR (registered, non-open). I like the OKCupid format because it is pretty scientific. That said, I think relationships are as much about art as science...and about answering e-mails on OkCupid, if you think this thing works! People seem to be on here a lot, apparently for extended periods. This makes me think it's really just another place to catch data about you...and sell you stuff.

If you were born and raised outside the US, particularly Europe, India, or Australia (and prob. others) it is likely that we would get along. I think Euros are born with more "funny genes"--which somehow rolled off on the boats coming over for their buddies headed over to the US permanently.

Don't be afraid of me or my pet ferrets in my pics--also, this is a lengthy profile, but I am a writer on the side. I am at a great place in life, but need more social balance. You should know that I am unconventional in my own right, and I relish in the same in another--in their own right. Hopefully we can meet somewhere in the middle.

Physically, I am somewhere between an "otter" and "muscle pup" (don't like labels and not really into sub-cultures) who happens to love ferrets as pets. Funny coincidence, because ferrets and otters are in the same latin-named family.

I'm fun, fit, intelligent, and sexy in a masculine and semi-boyish way. And okay...look younger than my age. I've got a big chest and shoulders (and heart), and a 30 inch waist...but I am not super-beefy.

I'm kinda furry. This has always seemed attractive to me, and I feel that people who shave should try to let it grow back. Just be natural, guys...natural and not furry is also attractive to me

I graduated from my first crossfit program recenty--it kicks your butt. Eventually, I am looking for a buddy to train for crossfit with me and a trainer. For now, I joined a multipurpose gym where I am gonna work on my weaker areas. I need a workout buddy for this too.

I am a Software Engineer++, I have a Computer Science degree and all but one class of a Biotech degree (7ish years college total). I can also write: technical, analytical, political, poetry--but not fiction. I am also interested in economics, analytics (as a science), law, psychology, philosophy, ethics, and art (oh yeah, and comedy). In short, I am kind of a "cross-disciplinary guy"--and yes, I want to find new purposes for food!

I like other intelligent, sometimes-artsy nerds. Speaking of art, I want to take an oil-painting class with someone.
What I’m doing with my life

Working on my book, which started out as a memoir early this year, and is evolving into a major project.

Being the neighborhood "happy ferret man"; it never ceases to amaze me how ferrets catalyze social interaction in public. Dump the IPhone!
I’m really good at
Interacting one-on-one in a way that can make both people feel good. Being creative in a way which hones my relationships. Cooking with another person.

Being a passionate and compassionate Lover, for a guy who is the right fit.

Being astute, insightful, creative--and sometimes...provocative (the aforementined alone or in combination). It's possible that I am a polymath or 'renaissance man'...or a gay, butch lesbian in a man's body--or all of these.
The first things people usually notice about me
Silly question I think. Everyone probably notices something different.

Sooner or later, you will recognize that I am extremely intuitive. The key to enjoying life with me is being honest, interactive, and touchy-feely.

All kinds of food, and lots of it
Plants, esp. exotic ones...cycads, cacti, succulents (I have a knack for knowing the latin names of many)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Observations, intuition, patterns, feelings.

I'm finding I'm a natural counselor, even psychologist.
On a typical Friday night I am
...snuggling and/or playing with the ferrets, and spending too much time on the computer--I'm hoping some of you reading this will drop me a line.

Very recently, I have gone out to dance by myself. I am approached by women and mostly younger men. I dance in an energetic, free-form style. I was told years ago in Paris at 'La Locomotive' by two Italian men that I "dance like a streeper."
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My thumbs are pretty big. I am the descendant of Irish and Polish workers. I've not met a man with bigger thumbs. My thumbs make it very hard to type on my cell, so instead I use my right pointer finger.

This isn't really private, just an observation. Eye contact and touch (even in public if you are gay) is very important. Remind me to tell you why I think this is if I forget.
You should message me if
You are true to your profile. You will not triangle me into you life. You are emotionally intelligent.

As you can see, I have dimples. Please be prepared to help them.

You are looking for friends and/or a relationship. Or, if you are a ferret lover, or recently out of a LT relationship (I know exactly one person out of a marriage through divorce). Or heck--if you are a computer nerd or writer (I don't meet many of these) or into health or the sciences. Anyway, please make sure to let me know your expectations and status in terms of relationships. Nothing could be more important.

If I end up dating someone, it could be a guy younger than me since I seem to have the family youthful gene--but not necessarily.

If it's not sunny, I would like to go to musicals/plays, or play computer games as a team like Diablo 3.

You should not message me if you don't identify with any of the following videos (cut and paste to watch):

If you have read this far, thank you so much for reading this friggin' novel! I hope you find my writing thoughtful. Any feedback is appreciated.

p.s. A 'dook' is a ferret noise like a llittle warble-bark that s/he makes when exploring, jumping and happy.
