What I’m doing with my life
Working to aid folks on hardships by day, and completing the comprehensive compilation of the wilds of my imagination by night, with the occasional bout of theatre thrown in.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've a curious, but bubbly energy, which stems from a particular belief that I've developed over the years. Even in microscopic ways, we impact the lives of everyone we come across, either positively or negatively. It is not the world's responsibility to carry a potential chip on my shoulder. If I have even the slightest opportunity to brighten the days of those around me, I'll gladly take it. Spreading happiness to others creates more happiness all around.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books (including plays): Catch-22, Invisible Man, The Idiot, The Eight, Eugene Onegin, The Misanthrope, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Snow Queen, 1984, The Crucible, Much Ado About Nothing, Cherry Orchard

I grew up on X-Men comics, so I'll always have a soft spot for that mythos, but I also love pretty much anything by Alan Moore, J. Michael Staczynski, and Warren Ellis.

Movies: Inception, Nolan's Batman series, Seven Years in Tibet, Thor, Dr. Strangelove, Titanic (shaddup! I'm THAT generation), Anastasia, Disney's Hercules, Seven Samurai, Hidden Fortress, and of course Star Wars.

Shows: BSG! Caprica, Community, Doctor Who, Firefly, Buffy, Angel, South Park, Futurama, Breaking Bad

Music: I've an enormous soft spot for instrumental music, including contemporary classical (paradoxical term?) since it helps me write, so I've a geeky fascination with the likes of John Williams, Bear McCreary and Patrick Doyle. I also have a nostalgic connection to Bach. When I was a little girl, my mom would play one of his lesser-known minuets to me each weekend morning in an effort to awaken me peacefully. It's one of the most beloved aspects of my childhood, so Bach will always have ample space in my heart.

Otherwise: Ray Charles, Daft Punk, Dead Kennedys, Fugazi, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Nevermore, Dream Theater, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, musical theatre, Stephen Lynch, Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Food: This is a disturbingly difficult question because it's so hard to choose! I love custard-based desserts like creme brulee and flan. I also love to make them!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Plausible ways to explain occurrences in a sci-fi book I'm writing without making physicists erupt uproariously in weeping laughter or giggly tears. I find that the learn I more about the actual field, the more absurd and baseless the science in my books seems. Ah, c'est a vie ;) Maybe just chalk it up to magic and call it a day?

Also, the utter coolness of finding a wormhole into the "real world!"
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out with friends or assisting with a performance (by being part of the performance). It's also entirely possible that I might just spend the entire evening on writing. The world of lit is a demanding one.

You're intellectually curious and adventurous! Few aspects are as attractive as passionate curiosity and the willingness to explore the cosmos!
