My self-summary
I moved down to London almost two years ago for a new job. I'm living happily with my best friend, missing my family's dogs and staying up too late for no real reason.

Here are some things I like: secondhand bookshops, the Prince Charles Cinema, XKCD, Manchester United, beer, science fiction, talking late into the night, the theatre, Tunnock's Caramel Wafers, discovering a new band or author, bouldering, and pottering around the kitchen listening to the cricket. I like cooking for friends more than eating out. I prefer pubs to clubs.
I’m really good at
I wasn't sure about this so asked a friend. She said, 'Making people feel good about themselves,' which I think we can agree is sweet even if it's probably not true.
The first things people usually notice about me
I really have no idea.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love books and really love buying them. Vonnegut, Nabokov, JM Coetzee, Wodehouse, Ishiguro, Cormac McCarthy. Sci-fi is my not-so-guilty pleasure. King Lear and His Dark Materials make me cry.

Films: The Apartment, The Magnificent Seven, It's a Wonderful Life, Singing in the Rain, My Neighbour Totoro. Anything with Jimmy Stewart.

I don't watch that much tv any more, but favourites include The West Wing, Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars, Misfits, Farscape, The Shield, Black Books, Breaking Bad, The Thick of It and The Daily Show. I've enjoyed the recent influx of foreign dramas, including Borgen, The Bridge and Spiral.

Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell, Nick Cave and Neil Young are the basics. The last gig I went to was Shonen Knife which was fantastic. Update: now the last gig I went to was the Tune Yards. Equally fantastic.

Foodwise I like: my Gran's cooking, cheese, indian food, and basically anything sweet. I'm incapable of passing a shop selling gözleme without getting one.
The six things I could never do without
My glasses, earphones, escapism, my phone, my best friend, hot showers.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What on earth I'm playing at.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ask me in person and I think I'll answer just about anything.
You should message me if
You think we might get on and are interested enough to find out.
