My self-summary
Sculptor, chainsaw carver, wire and leather worker. Father of a teenaged boy.
I'm quiet and reserved yet open and honest. Been working on my interpersonal skills for a long time and it seems to be paying off.
I'm a founding member of an art collective in inner Southeast Portland. My living situation is somewhat unusual. Work space and residence combined. I like to use power tools at odd hours.
I'm calm, collected and open minded. My hearing's a little iffy (too many power tools at odd hours) but I'm a good listener.
I'm also gainfully employed. Been at the same job for 26 years.
I gave up drinking alcohol for good more than two and a half years ago. No great trial and I won't be going back. I won't, however, be a jerk about it to anyone else. My sobriety is my business. The habits of others are not. I'm proud of myself. Healthy, strong and wide awake. Best thing I ever did for myself.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it. Well.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at a thousand things. Some things I'm really, really good at. I have a keen mind, strong, dexterous hands and I'm very touchy-feely.
The first things people usually notice about me
My mannish good looks, I guess. Followed by my understated charm. Followed by my considerable intelligence and intuition. Then my artistic ability, which is fairly vast. And then my mannish good looks again. Then probably my penchant for shameless self-promotion.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love Tolkien first. Neal Stephenson. Tom Robbins. William Gibson. Clive Barker. Christopher Moore. Neil Gaiman. Even George R. R. Martin.
I like books about art. Books about philosophy and science. Books about medicine and healing. Books.
I have too many favorite movies to list. Some are even romantic comedies.
As for television, I watch whatever strikes my fancy at any given time. I can't stand tv advertising at all so it's strictly Netflix.

I love music. Most kinds.

I am not a 'foodie'. I have no Portland-esque pretentions about eating hip or following trends. It's just food.
The six things I could never do without
Air. Water. Food. Clothing. Shelter. Love.
No, wait...
Sex. Drugs. Rock and roll. Hedonism. Villainy. Vice.
Sunshine. Cool friends. The respect of my peers. The ability to provide for my son. Tons of tools. Space to work.
Imagination. Focus. Equality. Strength. Justice. Compassion.

John Lennon told me all I really need is Love.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How cool it would be to have a girlfriend.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working. But I can take the night off should I have good reason...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
It's been a long time since I was part of the dating scene. I'm really out of practice. But I'm sure I'll remember.
You should message me if
You'd like to spend time with a stable yet quirky, highly imaginative yet low drama fiercely loyal fairly funny kind of guy.
