My self-summary
To summarize: I'm really very straight-forward. Except for when I'm not.

I'm really passionate about the things that I love, and utterly devoted to the people I love. I mostly don't have time for anything else. When not being very in love with whatever I'm doing/talking about, I'm very chilled out and hard to fluster.

I pride myself on being really damn scheme-y and creative. I love design and photography and generally making things look really damn good.

I love watching people who are good at things. Even more so if it's something I can't do. Failing that, I love listening to people talk about things they love.

I'm really good at looking after myself, and probably you too. I like people who are also really good at looking after themselves. I look for bluntness, honesty, and strength in my people.

I have lots of strong opinions, but will usually sit out a situation for a whilst before sharing them, until I've got the measure of people. I like people who'll defend the things they care about, and who aren't scared to care about things.

I have no idea what I want to do with the rest of my life except do things that make me happy. I think that's a damn good goal. Some of these things currently include: photography; drinking really good coffee; cooking for people; feminism; down-to-earth queer shit; dressing fancy; going for drives through eucalyptus trees; being high up; horse-riding; getting my super talented homos to play music for me and listening in awe; finding ingenious ways to fund said lifestyle.
What I’m doing with my life
Being a big homo and loving my people and my life as well as I possibly can.

Moved to Cali from Britain last summer, cos it's sunnier here. Spent a while gettin things in order, and now lookin for some community and chosen family and all that delicious stuff! I have come to the conclusion that I really enjoy people, so by all means hit me up if you want to be really enjoyed.
I’m really good at
Making places feel like home; cooking; being scheme-y; getting what I want, even when the odds are against me; being a cocky little shit; having the kind of conversations that empty out busy coffee shops; knowing people; dad-dancing; drinking coffee; doing things I'm scared of; procrastinating; being embarrassingly in love with my cat; being embarrassingly in love with Andrea Gibson; sorting other peoples' lives out for them instead of doing whatever I should be doing.
The first things people usually notice about me
People keep telling me they thought I was really cool when they met me. This shows I clearly haven't been around enough puppies, lately. I'm definitely not cool around puppies. I'm probably trying to put one in a sweater.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm largely of the opinion that no one reads - or cares about - this section, really. Or maybe that's just me?

Books: I read too many Serious Books for school, so am now recovering by reading a lot of blogs that weren't written by old cis white men.

Movies: V for Vendetta; Bound; Gladiator; Bourne(s); Girl with a dragon tattoo; Little miss sunshine; Priceless; Resident Evil; anything with butch women in (or at least Michelle Rodriguez. I'm still waiting on a movie where she doesn't die. I can dream, right?)

Shows: Game of thrones; True blood; The Wire; In Plain Sight; Orange is the New Black (obvs, cos I'm a homo and it's like required).

Music: All sorts. But you know what I really love? When people make me playlists.

Food: Anything done well. Specifically Thai food. I love cooking and being cooked for. Requisite: appreciation of good food.
Six things I could never do without
- My pack of queermos
- Long and inappropriate conversations with my best friend on public transport
- Puppies and bridges. This is a shifty doubled-up answer, cos I'm a badass like that.
- My iphone
- Other people's hoodies (they make me feel loved)
- Fuck tons of photos
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I, without fail, manage to write too much.

When I next get to drive, passionately, over the Oakland bay bridge. Preferably whilst eating a burrito. For ultimate happiness-to-time ratio. [Edit: passion only applies to old bay bridge. New inferior bridge not included.]

How many puppies is too many puppies.

Wanting to find other cats who are both irrevocably working class and unswervingly turned on to, as my housemate puts it, 'doing the revolution without being an asshole'.

If I've mentioned puppies too many times in this profile and anyone has realised that I'm actually not cool, especially around puppies.
On a typical Friday night I am
Ideally: cooking dinner with friends, a couple of beers, a guitar & nothing to get up for in the morning.

Realistically: watching The Wire & modelling myself on Omar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My favourite Andrea Gibson poem is 'poledancer'
You should message me if
You have good taste.

[Insert standard bay-area non-monogamy + queer disclaimer here]

You relate to masculinity in some shape or form. Having a motorbike would also stand in your favour. The two aren't (necessarily) related.

You're straight-up.

You want to explore with a camera. Extra points if said explorations involve bridges. I fucking love bridges.

You're a cocky fucker.

You want to trade mad cooking skills/dinner.

You are going to enjoy my (northern) British accent. (For the uninitiated: I sound like the wildlings in game of thrones)

You want to go riding. And can get us there. This sounds like an innuendo. I don't think it is. Sorry.

You want to introduce me to lots of super cool homos and then all go dancing.

You own a burly dog or two (jackpot: pitbulls) and want to buy me a beer and chat shit whilst we wear the dogs out.

You are also in love with Andrea Gibson. (Who am I kidding, this is like a requisite of being friends with me. Unless english is your second language, in which case I might consider making an exception).
The two of us
