My self-summary
Hello, my name is Frank.

I am a geeky, dorky, nerdy & intelligent person with an opinion on anything and everything (either informed or uninformed).
I like sci-fi, science and knowledge and I live for the future.

If the above makes you feel uncomfortable, feel free skip the rest of my profile and save yourself some time.
If it doesn't and/or makes you excited, please do read on!
What I’m doing with my life
having as much fun as possible and learning as many things as I can. Ideally I wish to contribute something lasting to humanity..

I have 2 life-long goals which are QUITE ambitious but I figure you might as well aim high if you're aiming at all right?

Mostly however my biggest desires in life stem from my need to help better this world. I am a helper and get immense pleasure from doing things that really benefit others... On the flipside however that also means I can get quite angry when people/society fucks up beyond my comprehension.
I’m really good at
rational & logical thought; relativation (yes I know it's not an actual word, but for the life of me I can't think of a better one); keeping my cool & diplomacy.
Also procrastination, spending time by myself; I love alone time.

I have a scientific mind and tend to see things with quite a different perspective than most people.
There isn't much gray in my life, simply because I rationalize any 'gray areas' back to black and white.
I am very flexible in my thoughts and can usually get along great with whomever I meet simply because I am very adaptive and can find something relatable in almost any story/subject.
The first things people usually notice about me
The fact that I am usually either bald or sporting shoulder-length hair. I don't 'cut' my hair.. I let it grow and when I'm bored with it shave it all off. Right now it's almost at that point where I might want to shave it all off again.

Other than that I suppose they'd notice my lack of facial expression. I don't 'emote' much using subtle non-verbal language. When I feel something, I'll make it very obvious and you'll never see me providing 'subtle' hints or remarks. It's all straight in your face sarcasm with me (I hate pretentious crap).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
=== Books: ===
- The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy

Other than those I haven't read much fiction and am more of a non-fiction reader; I love any and all knowledge!
Not to say I don't LIKE reading fiction, I just never seem to get around to it/into the mood. My collecting OCD however does mean I have approx. 360.000 e-books on my computer.. you know, just in case of an apocalypse and the internet dies and all the libraries burn down but my computer (and electricity) somehow survive :P

I don't especially prefer one genre over the other but I do tend to gravitate towards sci-fi or movies with some sci-fi elements at least. This is mostly because I live for the future and can't wait to see what advancements we can make.
I also want a movie to have some character and/or meaning and a plot that goes beyond "boy meets girl" and alike.

=== music: ===
The main genres I listen to are (vocal) trance, rock & metal but I can like most music.
I don't like rap, hiphop, dubstep, hardcore or similar however.
I'm not going to list songs/artists here as this list would be way too long even if I confined it to my mere favourites, so feel free to ask!
Incidentally my favourite songs of the moment are:
Pink Floyd - Pulse (Live) - High Hopes
Pink Floyd - Pulse (Live) - Sorrow
Infected Mushroom - Elation Station
Scorpions - Still Loving You
Oceanlab (A&B) - Sirens of the Sea
Oceanlab (A&B) - Satellite
Armin van Buuren - Shivers
Armin van Buuren - Burned With Desire
Joel Nielsen - Black Mesa Source (the whole album)

=== Food: ===
- Sushi
- Pizza
- Pasta
- Noodles
- Rice
- Chilli con carne
Those are my favourites but I eat almost anything.
I hate shell-food however and other food that requires much effort to eat (drumsticks and the likes).

=== Games: ===
- EVE Online
- StarCraft 2
- Minecraft
- Mass Effect (1-3)
- Anno 2070
- Borderlands (1-2)
- Skyrim
These are some of the games I am currently playing/have recently played.
The six things I could never do without
air, water, food, shelter, clothes, money.

Or, taking 'real' needs out of the equation:
my computer, my phone, internet, books, multi-media entertainment, my glasses.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
everything really.. but mostly the Grand Unifying Theory of Physics and Artificial Intelligence.

Also human stupidity, human nature, society and advancement/evolution.

The overlapping theme of most of my thoughts however stem from an intense desire to better the world for everyone in it and so I spend most of my time thinking of ways in which this might be achieved.
On a typical Friday night I am
probably working.. or recuperating from work. Yeah sounds boring heh? But I work evenings/nights so not much I can do about that. The pay is better and I'm more of a night person anyway so it's basically win-win.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have Asperger syndrome but have only been (officially) diagnosed in 2012.

Knowing this however has put me quite at ease; I always felt 'different' from most people and having a label to stamp on it made me feel a lot more secure about myself.

It isn't as bad as you might think though, many people live (most of) their lives without even knowing they have Asperger syndrome and the symptoms are quite manageable.

The most noticeable symptoms are my rational and logical mind and look on things. I think with my logic and not with my feelings. I perceive events (even with people involved) logically in stead of with feelings.
I've always felt more as an observer of human nature than being subject to it.

I do not 'get' subtle non-verbal hints and certain aspects of social rituals baffle me as I simply cannot see the logic in them. Everything I do is straight to the point and there's nothing subtle to it.
I don't lie or twist the truth. It is often said if you want a truthfully honest opinion on something you ask someone with Asperger, and this is true. My female friends love going shopping with me because I give straight answers as to how clothes look on them.
You should message me if
you would like to get to know me better. (duh?)

Oh you can also message me if you'd just like a chat, are in need of some good anime/movie suggestions or have a question about.. well anything really. I love a good chat/discussion and regardless of the subject I usually have at least something interesting to say.
