My self-summary
I am a 57 year old single male with two dogs. I build furniture for a living and cannot think of ever doing anything else. The furniture I build and am now learning as quickly and as well as I can is the very beautiful Japanese furniture rarely built by the younger Japanese craftsmen. My business partner has retired and I have decided to learn and eventually sell the Japanese furniture described above. I was in high level sales for 25 + years and finally just burned out. Very happy with my current situation with the exception of not having a companion to love. However, in no manner desperate and very willing to remain as I am until I find the right person. I have the most wonderful, lovely 25 year old daughter who is the light and love of my life. I have been married twice but in no way am I down on marriage. My goal is to find a woman who will love, believe and give as much to me as I will to them.

I am Funny, Loving, and Self Assured
What I’m doing with my life
Building furniture downstairs in my shop with the help of my two "boys." Rocky, my 6 1/2 yr. old, 105 lb half German Shepherd/half Rottweiler and Coalie Bear, my 6 yr. old, 145 lb Rottweiler are my boys and they help me by coming down and making sure that I am doing what I should be doing. :o) Hard to imagine my life without them.
I’m really good at
Loving my daughter and my four legged big boys, giving, reading, woodworking, loving people and being a friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
My laugh. :o)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Far too many authors to name them all. I love Sci-Fi, Mystery/Detective and Woodworking books. I am currently reading a Mystery/Detective series written by Sophie Hannah. She is a fantastic writer but the subjects of each of the books can be pretty dark. Haven't seen many movies as unless my daughter is in town it is a little lonely going by myself. I love almost all music with the exception of most opera and hard core jazz. Have not been to any shows. I love Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai and others that I cannot think of right now. :o)
Six things I could never do without
My daughter, my two big boys, coffee, my woodworking shop and tools, my amazing friends, books, music and NPR. I know that this is actually eight items but I cannot make this list without all of them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
An amazing song, that describes my feelings perfectly, sung and written by Joy Williams & John Paul White, the two members of the group The Civil Wars and is on their album "Barton Hollow." The name of the song is:

To Whom It May Concern

"Why are you so far from me? / In my arms is where you ought to be / How long will you make me wait? / I don't know how much more I can take

I've missed you / But I haven't met you / Oh how I want to / How I do

Slowly counting down the days / Till I finally know your name / The way your hand feels round my waist / The way you laugh, the way your kisses taste

I've missed you / But I haven't met you / Oh how I want to / How I do / How I do

I've missed you / But I haven't met you / Oh I've missed you / But I haven't met you / Oh but I want to / Oh how I want to

Dear whoever you might be / I'm still waiting patiently"
On a typical Friday night I am
I am down in my shop learning and practicing how to build the gorgeous furniture that the older Japanese craftsmen built. Specifically using a hidden joinery technique called sashimono.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I may be the single least photogenic person walking this earth. :o)
You should message me if
You want to share my passions as I will yours. This is something that I have never had and recently have seen just how much I have missed. Several of my woodworking friends have spouses, girl or boyfriends, etc. who not only come with them to woodworking shows, meetings and other events but are there to also learn and see what they can do to help their partner. I always thought that was how a relationship was supposed to work but instead, I was the one and only one that gave in my relationships. If you want someone that wants to share your passions and in return share mine that is a great start.
Message me if you are possibly interested in moving to the Manchester portion of Vermont in the next four years. It is my second favorite state, after Alaska, and I love the atmosphere there. I want a smallish home with room for my daughter and/or sibs and spouses can visit, that has a few acres, where my boys can run freely and I can have a true workshop. Plus, I would like to have a vegetable garden and if possible move completely off the grid much like the entire town of Dorset is attempting to do.
Message me if you believe in the rights of each of us to have our own belief systems as long as we are causing no harm.
Message me if you believe in life, love, happiness and are willing to truly work at achieving those goals with the correct partner.
Message me if you love deep philosophical discussions, incredibly stupid and silly nonsense and can and want to follow non-sequitur thoughts, phrases, logic??? :o)
Message me if you love great coffee. :o)
Message me if you love NPR, fine furniture and craftsmanship, vinyl records and CDs, books of all kinds and types, good, great and bad movies.
Message me if you love to sing, sometimes even on key. :o)
Message me if you can work extremely hard and yet enjoy what you are doing.
Message me if you can kick back and truly relax.
Message me if you know and believe that a home is built upon all of the above PLUS a warm and cozy blanket of unconditional love.
Message me knowing that you will be seen and treated as my queen/princess/true equal.
