My self-summary
Hope springs eternal. Every time I read a profile that makes me laugh or strikes a certain chord, I say..."could he be the one?" I miss the spark and feeling the butterflies -the excited anticipation! I want to meet someone who makes me laugh, makes me think, and turns me on and can share adventures with me.

I've been divorced for 8 years. I have a good relationship with my ex and have very little baggage. I am emotionally stable, quick-witted, and smart. I also make a reasonable attempt to stay fit and hope you do too. I exercise regularly and I eat mostly healthy food but will pig out occasionally (why sweat your butt off at the gym if you can't indulge in a great cheeseburger every once in a while?) I am a pretty good cook albeit with a limited repertoire in the kitchen, but I will try anything from a cookbook once and then improvise from there. I would like to be sharing those slicing, dicing and sauteeing activities with you. I enjoy giving dinner parties at home sharing food and wine with close friends and family.

I have good friends from almost all phases of my life - early childhood, summer camp, schools and work and I know how fortunate I am to have this network of support. I work full time but with reasonable hours (even more reasonable during the summer) so I'm not available to travel the world right now - at least not for a few years.

I grew up in the city and take more advantage of it now than ever before - -love going to hear live music (especially Brazilian jazz) out to dinner, theater, the Highline, Central Park, the Whitney - and what is more spectacular than the Roof Garden at the Met? I also love weekend trips out of town to hike, play tennis (haven't had a racquet in my hand in a while but want to get into that again) and just relax.

Please have recent photos posted that actually resemble you (a lot can deteriorate in 5 years) and that are not just showing off your photography. Mine are all very current and look like me - actually, I've often been told that I look better in person. Let me prove it to you! I'll make you laugh and I'm a good audience too.

No winks please - write something! And if you're politically conservative or a Trump supporter, we are definitely not a match.
What I’m doing with my life
Working at a job that I love. Worrying about my kids (does that ever stop?), appreciating my friends, and trying to slow down the passage of time! Trying to get more involved politically than just donating money.
I’m really good at
Not sweating the small stuff. Putting people at ease.
The first things people usually notice about me
They don't usually tell me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I was lucky enough to see both Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen. WOW. Also loved Color Purple,Book of Mormon, Beautiful. I just finished reading Commonwealth by Ann Patchett, and loved it. Also recently: A Little Life, When Breath Becomes Air, Modern Romance, Miller's Valley. At the risk of being trite, I have to put To Kill a Mockingbird (book and movie) on this list, Catcher in the Rye, Strength in What Remains by Tracy Kidder. For the humor, anything by Jonathan Tropper. Movies: The Big Sick ( my new favorite movie), Lion, LaLa Land, Hidden Figures - Also - Spotlight, Kramer vs. Kramer, Driving Miss Daisy, The Intouchables, Ida, Philomena, the Way, Way Back.....I love the movies.. It has to be terrible for me not to enjoy myself in the movie theater. Just saw Arrival at home and was really bored. TV: The Daily Show - I REALLY miss Jon Stewart - Homeland, The Americans, American Crime, Bill Maher, Masters of Sex, Seinfeld, Parenthood, Transparent, Catastrophe. Music: Brazilian jazz, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Beatles, James Taylor/Carole King, so many more. All food except sausage, olives, anchovies.
Six things I could never do without
My kids, my friends, good coffee, good wine, music, and occasional fits of laughter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why did I just walk into this room?
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends for drinks and dinner.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't sleep if my closet doors are open - relates to a nightmare I had as a kid.
You should message me if
You relate some of your life experiences to Seinfeld episodes. And if you are kind with a good sense of humor.
