My self-summary
You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly.~Sam Keen

I'm artistic, honest, loving, caring, ambitious, and I try to live my life day by day as often as I can. I love people, I love life, and I would like to find a someone I can call my best friend. People wonder where I got my screen name. I was named after my Mom's favorite actor and poet, both named Gustavo. The poet was Gustavo Adolfo Becquer, a Spanish post-romanticist writer of poetry and short stories, now considered one of the most important figures in Spanish literature. His work approached the traditional poetry and themes in a modern way, and he is considered the founder of modern Spanish lyricism. I think that's cool.

Apparently, I'm a loverboy. in a good way...
What I’m doing with my life
Looking for my Alabama Whirly.

I draw popular superheroes for a living, as well as a few other creative things in my free time.

Thinking I must be insane to still be on this site, expecting I might, perhaps, meet someone amazing. Mostly due to this quote...

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. ~ Albert Einstein"
I’m really good at
Being very different than I look, apparently. I'm not sure what I project, but people are always surprised at how sweet I am.

Being straight with people, and being on time. I cook pretty well, too.
The first things people usually notice about me
Not sure. People usually think I look like someone, but they're never sure who. I've been told my smile seems genuine.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
So much to list.

Books: I like a good mystery. Fantasy (like Sword and sorcery, warriors clad in armor-type stuff). Graphic novels. Tao Te Ching,
actor autobiographies.

Movies: This is my favorite form of entertainment. I love movies. I can say I'm not a huge fan of horror films, mostly because they don't frighten me, and nowadays the only horrifying thing about them is how they're made. To name some of my favorites: Amadeus, Braveheart, GlenGary GlenRoss, True Romance, Leon, Amelie, Super, District 13, Yojimbo, Titus, Equilibrium, The Lion in Winter, British Gangster films, Taladega Nights... I could go on.

Shows: GoT, Peaky Blinders, Luther, The Shield, Oz, Burn Notice, Orange is the New Black, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers. I watch most of my films and tv on Netflix nowadays.

Music: Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Damien Rice, John Morrison, Bjork, Tom Waits, Bach, Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Buckley, Erasure, The Strokes, Gotye. I like a lot of different types of music. I'm a big fan of late 60's, and 70's music.

Food: I like to cook, I like to eat. I have no favorite cuisine , really. I'm unfortunately allergic to shellfish, and will try most things, but not just anything put in front of me. I like to eat fairly healthy, and have recently got into juicing, but every once in a while (and I mean every once in a while) I don't mind a little cheat food. I am not a vegetarian, but I have no problem eating my veggies. I promise, though, if you are a vegetarian, to respect that, and eat my burger when you're not around. What is life all about if you can't have what you want every once in a while?
The six things I could never do without
1. Love
2. Curiosity
3. Humility
4. Drive
5. Empathy
6. Honor
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What dating life would be like without internet dating. It seems as if people have forgotten to see past little things that you normally look past in real life. Is a band or food you don't like really a deal-breaker? Seems petty.

Just about anything and everything. I have a curious and opportunistic mind.

How I can sell off everything I own and get a camper van so I can go anywhere I want. Or maybe to ride my motorcycle to South America and just drive to wherever I end up...

How to enjoy my life to the fullest. I know it can be taken at any moment, so I try not to live my life with regret, or feeling like I'm doing something that is wasting the precious time I have here.

This. I've been guilty of it, myself, but no more.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing something untypical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like professional wrestling.

I find it odd that most people think this question is sexual in nature and somehow prying into your innermost thoughts. Why are people afraid to admit anything? "I'm not going to tell you" is not an answer. Be creative. Be brave. It's asking you the most private thing you ARE willing to admit. It doesn't have to be the key to your darkest secrets. It could be as simple as "I like the color brown". Why so serious?
You should message me if
You think I'm cute and smart, and you like those things combined.

I'm going to try something. Let's be progressive about this. If you like my profile, and you want to get to know more about me, please, feel free to send me a message. Even if it's just so I know to engage you in conversation. You know, kind of like a smile or a nod when you're out, to let me know it's okay to approach... I'll say, it's hard as a guy to send messages out and not get responses. It can get a little disheartening and makes one want to stop trying. We like signals.

If you have an actual interest in meeting in person. This texting and emailing back and forth... I'm not looking for a pen pal. I'm interested in spending actual time with someone. If you're always working and have no time to meet, or just want to talk without ever meeting in person, I wish you good luck.

You like men who are open.

You are emotionally available.

You want someone who's honest, dependable, and ambitious.

You understand that it's how you live your life day to day that makes a person who they are, not what you own, who you know, and what you do.

You treat people the same, from the bottom of the ladder to the top.

You are a communicator.

I like intelligence and confidence.

Please do NOT message me if every photo of you is from three feet above your head. I'm not a giant. I will not be seeing you that way every day. Show me what you look like.

Also, if you claim to be healthy and exercise and eat well, and do yoga and all kinds of healthy things, and then you smoke cigarettes, you're a hypocrite. That's one of the unhealthiest things you can do to your body. Don't kid yourself. Too harsh? Well, sometimes the truth is a hard pill to swallow.
