My self-summary
A few things I really like: long road trips, good books, folk-ish music, coffee, comic books, exercising, and being outdoors.

After college, I worked for a non-profit in India for the better part of a year, which was an incredible experience. Other than that I haven't gotten many chances to travel abroad, but I've traveled around the United States a lot. I like to take road trips whenever I get the chance. I'm trying to get to every state. I'm currently at 47.

I play a few instruments decently well. I like movies from the golden age of Hollywood and music from the swing era. I'm kind of an old soul. I love the sunday comic strips. The character trait I value most in others is kindness. Other than that I guess modesty and intelligence are nice too.

I used to volunteer with Alzheimer's patients, and I like hiking and camping. I try to go on a few camping trips a year.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a lawyer at a firm in St. Louis. I'm fairly new to the job, but so far so good. I'm also trying to stay involved in all the other things I like (reading books, exercising, spending time outdoors, seeing friends, and so on).
I’m really good at
Playing instruments, touching my nose with my tongue, backflips, minesweeper.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have a ton of favorite music, but some of my very favorites are Jackson Browne, the Velvet Underground, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Elton John, the Mountain Goats, The Tallest Man on Earth, Father John Misty, the Arcade Fire, the Black Keys, and Bon Iver.

Some of my favorite movies are Almost Famous, Annie Hall, the original Star Wars trilogy, North by Northwest, the French Connection, old Mel Brooks comedies, Memento, Inception.

Books: 100 Years of Solitude, Johnny Got his Gun, Into the Wild, A Tale of Two Cities, Stranger in a Strange Land, A River Runs Through It, Slaughterhouse 5 (and most of Vonnegut's work), On the Road. I'm also really into comics and graphic novels.
The six things I could never do without
My dogs, music, coffee, the outdoors, my comic book collection, wikipedia
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Places I'd like to travel, songs I'd like to learn how to play, books I don't have the time to read, missing my dogs back in Chicago
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I find it difficult to sing "Leaving on a Jet Plane" without getting a little emotional.
You should message me if
When I tell you that the first album I ever bought in a store was George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass," your response is thinking that I'm super cool.
