My self-summary
I was born in Vancouver, Canada, but grew up in Israel, and now, probably like you, living and working in Manhattan.
I'm fiercely opinionated, loyal and fair. I've got a big heart and am very personable. I am curious by nature and will ask you all the dreaded questions within the first ten minutes of meeting you. I really love my career and work really hard. If I feel something is unjust or unfair, I'll challenge it all while listening to the opposing side.
As you can imagine, moving to a new country far away from all friends and family, having alone time is something I don't mind, in fact I value it. I'm fluent in sarcasm as I often use it as a defense mechanism, but it's generally good natured and means I like you.
I Never thought about these websites until one night out some friends the subject came up and they all said they're doing it and it's cool, so here I am..
What I’m doing with my life
I'm the CFO of a real estate development company and the city and I have a small private equity fund I manage investing in securities, hi-tech and real estate.
I know everyone says it, but I really LOVE what I do. I can work 12 hours a day, and then get home and work for 3 more hours. (while thinking about work on the subway ride).
I enjoy analyzing where a certain market is going, contemplating where interest rates will be 2 years from today, or coming up with a new pitch for investors.
I was thinking about a masters in finance/MBA/engineering, but that's all taking a back sit for now.
I’m really good at
Tying my own shoelaces
Ordering my own lunch
Free style gangsta rapping
Getting on the subway at a local station and then jumping to an express line when both trains pull up together
Hearing American idioms I'm not familiar with and figuring out their meanings without Googling it.
Apparently, picking good karaoke songs for my friends.
Giving massages, they're the best.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I have to be honest, I don't really read any more.
But I read a lot of books by Ayn Rand, Thomas Sowell, Malcolm Gladwell.
TV shows: Arrested development (best comedy ever created for TV),
It's always sunny, The Larry Sanders Show, The men who built America, any Louis Theroux documentary, Parks and recreation.
Of course I'm always down for a Seinfeld / Fresh Prince rerun.

Music: Mostly progressive rock and fusion. But I can appreciate anything from jazz to hip hop to metal to EDM to classical to pop as long as it excites me. The new Daft Punk is amazing by the way.
I used to play for many years, but not so much since I moved to NY unfortunately.
I'm involved with this crew. This is what I like and do

Movies: My taste in movies kinda bums people out. I like anything by Stanley Kubrick, Elia Kazan, Francis Ford Coppola, Wes Anderson, Hitchcock and Lars Von Trier.
But I'll throw in an Iron Man 3 in there once in while.
Six things I could never do without
The internet
My iphone
Family and childhood friends
Last spot remains to be filled I guess
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why this site says "New York" or "Brooklyn", but names specific Queens neighborhoods?

And why OKCupid always suggests that I send people 'nice' messages.
On a typical Friday night I am
I try not to have a typical Friday night.
But usually hitting the bars, seeing a show or a movie at the park, having dinner with friends. But staying in with the right person is also fun.
Once in a while I'll be lame and catch up on my sleep.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I watch this clip every morning to get the day started
You should message me if
You're willing to help me overcome my heroin addiction.

You'd rather have met organically and you're willing to lie about how we met.
You take not taking yourself too seriously, very seriously.
You're not a weird guy pretending to be a girl on OKC.
The two of us
