My self-summary
Many people underestimate me... Have a vast knowledge of history, and am quite knowledgeable on many other subjects, although many times I'm dressed as if I just climbed out of a western film. I'm a firm believer in being old fashioned and a gentleman. I have a fondness for finer alcohols such as Bourbon, good beers, and Scotch. I don't like to drink to get drunk, I prefer to enjoy what I am drinking, and the company I am with when I do. You can make your own judgment of me from what I have posted and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'm a laid back person, and I don't let life get to me normally. I try to enjoy it while I can, while still being good and moral, since we don't have long on this Earth.
What I’m doing with my life
Going to college for history, will hopefully work as a museum curator or researcher. Currently work in a factory, reenact the Civil War, and volunteer at the Hesston Steam Museum (part of my duties is to stoke a stationary boiler and operate 1/8 scale engines).
I’m really good at
Researching history, working on vehicles, riding horses, and making really bad puns.
The first things people usually notice about me
My antiquated style, and sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Clive Cussler, Tom Clancy, Samuel Clemens, The Destroyermen Series by Taylor Anderson
Shows: NCIS, Dukes of Hazzard, Petticoat Junction, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Doctor Who!!!, Top Gear (BBC version), The Rifleman, Hogans Heroes, etc. (I'm big into older television shows.)
Theater: I know this wasn't a category listed, but I've decided to add it. My favorite plays would have to be Phantom of the Opera, Hello Dolly, The Producers, and Spamalot!
Movies: Action, Comedy, Propaganda, various others of various genres, although my favorite movies of all time are Rock Island Trail, and Gone With The Wind (I have a soft spot for that one, and have been called Rhett Butler on a few occasions.)
Music: Country, Classic Rock, Oldies, Propaganda, Civil War, Irish rebel and pub songs, Swing, Celtic, Gospel, WWII, Big Band, Classical (Especially Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture), and the song that I consider to be a fairly accurate description of me, Guys Like Me by Eric Church, though Loretta Lynn is tops in my book! Most of the music I own is on vinyl or 8track.
Food: Sweet tea, Southern, comfort foods, German, American, Irish, hot tea (not green) I love food in general, and will try almost any, but those are my top favorites. As my father always said, "Every time you try something new, you add a day on to the end of your life."
Six things I could never do without
1. Guns
2. Truck (Ford)
3. Trains (Hesston)
4. Livin' in the country
5. My dog
6. my Harley
I spend a lot of time thinking about
History. Guns. Trains. Research. Civil War. Projects and hobbies.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either workin' on my truck, at a Civil War event, at Hesston, or hanging out with friends at the local Irish pub Fiddler's Hearth.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well if I told it here, it wouldn't be private now would it?
You should message me if
You have a passion for history, like the outdoors, or are just curious about me, up to you. Currently I am only looking for friends, if it becomes more than that later down the road, so be it, but not actively looking for a relationship right now.
