My self-summary
I'm not as miserable as I look in the photos!

I'm easy-going and can be fairly quiet, but some people say I'm good at listening to them. I like getting out and going places I've never been before (usually on my bike), if I'm not doing anything else I'm usually hanging out with my friends or I've got my head in a book. Also like to get to as many gigs and festivals as I can.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to see as much of the world as I can. In the past I've ridden across Spain to Morocco and through Denmark, Sweden and Norway. This year I travelled around France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands to get to a gig in a cave in Belgium (long story!) Now I've got to decide where to go next year.....
I’m really good at
Hmm.... messing around on bikes? Discovering obscure bands? Nothing that's actually useful!
The first things people usually notice about me
Erm...? You tell me?

When I let my beard grow it seems to get a lot of attention.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love music and listen to it all the time, mainly post-rock, doom metal, drone metal and black metal. Neurosis, Earth, Mogwai, Wolves In The Throne room, Sunn O))), Year Of No Light, Mono, Altar of Plagues, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Panopticon, Jesu, Converge, Thou, Amenra, Ufomammut, Ash Borer, Asva.....
But I listen to a lot of other genres as well and I'm interested in the way different types of music evolve and influence each other. Basically so long as you don't think music begins and ends with the X-Factor we'll find some common ground :-)

I like books by Hubert Selby Jnr, Joseph Heller, JG Ballard, Cormac McCarthy, HG Wells, John Wyndham, Kurt Vonnegut, William Golding among others. Also read graphic novels occasionally and some non-fiction stuff, usually natural history/nature.

Some of my favourite movies are Blade runner, Pan's Labyrinth, Watchmen, Let The Right One In, Taxi Driver.... basically dark and disturbing stuff.
The six things I could never do without
Friends, music, books, mountains, lakes and epic coastlines.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to make life more interesting.
On a typical Friday night I am
Wouldn't say I've got a typical Friday night. I could be at a gig, riding somewhere on my bike, watching a film with a friend....
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well, if it's private I'm probably not gonna stick it on the internet!
You should message me if
You don't mind beards and people who are into the stranger/darker things in life.
