My self-summary
Have you ever had an epiphany?
I lived so long on the East Coast that I never really thought of it as an option, just a fact. But one day it just hit me "I can live anywhere I want!" (There is actually more to the story than that, but I'm trying to keep this brief).
Turns out I was only still living there out of habit; habit can really sneak up on you.

For me, all that lead me to selling my house, finding a new job, and leaving everything behind to start over in San Diego.
It was the right choice.

So many people mention traveling, so I suppose I should weigh in.
I don't love traveling, but I enjoy what I can get out of traveling.
I seriously want to visit Japan.

In case the pictures weren't a dead giveaway, I'm a geek. Which means I enjoy geeky things like: scifi, fantasy, comic conventions, cosplay, novels, the Internet, board games, and... well, lots of random things that I can easily get carried away talking about.
What I’m doing with my life
What? Moving across the country isn't enough for you?

I'm a Network engineering, which is a career that can be rather hard to explain. But I can at least finally say that I'm successful at it.

I won my first game of Racquetball the other day. That was pretty sweet.

Still looking for what's next. Though I suppose you can say that you never stop looking for that.
I’m really good at
-Making people laugh; It's true, I'm hilarious.
-Understanding; "I totally get what you mean".
-Remembering useless things. Thanks for that brain, can't remember what I was working on yesterday but I remember all the jokes from a 90s sitcoms.

Looking like my pictures. Apparently it's a big deal.
The first things people usually notice about me
I can honestly say that I hate this question.
How should I know what they notice about me? It's not like I give out surveys.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
These sort of lists can be tricky. Favorites change. So I'm going to try and speak in generalities - with a few examples tossed in.

1) I love fantasy novels. It's not rare for me to miss a bit of sleep because of the "just one more chapter" effect.
I would recommend anything by Anne Bishop, Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher, Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson, Peter V. Brett.
I also sometimes read comic books or graphic novels.

2) Pixar and Disney movies for sure. Action, Adventure, Comic book, and what you would call generally geek movies.
I also love a lot of "classic" 90s movies.

3) It's easier for me to pick favorite shows than movies. Some of the top ones are Firefly, Farscape, Buffy, Angel, Wonderfalls, Special Unit 2, Stargates SG1, Dexter, Community, a few of the Star Treks, Game of Thrones, Archer, Family Guy, Sealab 2021, Once Upon a Time... Oh, and a few dozen Anime.
Joss Whedon may very well be my deity.

4) I like music, i have music playing most of the time, but I don't consider myself a music person. So giving you a list of bands wouldn't really tell you much about me.

5) Breakfast.
Italian food, Deli food, Bread, several Chinese and Thai dishes, a few things from an Indian or Mexican menu, and Brownie Sundaes.
I do not enjoy sea food.
I'm not a foodie. That has been confirmed. I like a variety of things, but I have fairly simple tastes.
The six things I could never do without
-Books: I love the feel and smell of a physical book. But digital is winning in terms of convenience.

-The Internet: There is just so much knowledge to find! Just check behind the porn.

-Computers: What? It's part of my job... okay fine, I'm just a tech guy.

-Friends: Everything is better shared. Well, almost everything.

-Privacy: Oh thank the gods, I'm so sick of those people.

-Games: Especially board games. But there is room for some video, card, and general table top gaming.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about possibilities a lot; both real and absurd ones.

And I'm always thinking "What's Next?"
On a typical Friday night I am
Not wearing pants, that's for damn sure.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not a very private person. But I'm also not an exhibitionist. So you'll have to actually ask questions to get private answers, I wont just shotgun out private information.
You should message me if
Ideally? You'll challenge me to be better than I am.

You can bring some positive energy with you. I could use some more happy "let go do something!" people in my life.

And, of course, share some of my hobbies and interests. That one is always good.
