My self-summary
I don't really remember details, just impressions and feelings. I've been around and done a lot; my interests are varied and my attention tends to hop around occasionally. As such I run a small tape label, do a weekly radio show on a local radio station, play shows occasionally, do some gardening, work on my house, play games with friends, hang out with my dogs, etc.
What I’m doing with my life
Some day I'll figure that out, or at least I imagine I might. The pragmatic portion of my personality understands that life is more a series of phases, working through difficulties and interests as they present themselves and adjusting to the way in which they affect your life and adjusting. Right now I'm in a bit of a between time, which is both exciting and stressful. Opportunity abounds but the direction in which I might express my effort remains a mystery as of late.
I’m really good at
Making strange sounds with synthesizers. Making terrible jokes. Making decent jokes. Making myself and other people uncomfortable. Sometimes writing, sometimes not. Sometimes I'm good at empathizing and sometimes I'm completely tone deaf.
I'm good at picking things up quickly but bad at mastering them.
I'm generally better at communicating over the internet, but occasionally bad at starting conversation. I usually have something to say but I'll ask questions until I feel like I understand enough to be confident in my opinion.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For books and movies I tend to like things that qualify as Sci-Fi more than anything else, but I've read and watched my share of "classics." There was a while when all I read was Vonnegut, then Hemingway, some Steinbeck, then working through the list of Pulitzer winners just because I figured they were probably worth reading. Recently I've been reading the Song of Ice and Fire series, How to Live Safely In a Science Fictional Universe, Cuckoo's Calling, Peoples History of the US, random music programming books.

I've been listening to Oneohtrix Point Never, Mount Kimbie, Disclosure, Fugazi, Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, Holly Herndon, Chromatics, Deerhunter, The Unicorns, Joanna Newsom, The Knife, James Blake, LCD Soundsystem, Aphex Twin, Battles, Severed Heads, Q and Not U, Slint, St.Vincent, YATCH, Wild Nothing, The XX, FKA Twigs, Dirty Projectors, Boards of Canada, and all that kind of stuff.
