My self-summary
I have both an insatiable curiosity for life and a good sense of humor.

Really though, I never know what to write in these spaces. How can anyone? We're all multi-faceted, complex beings (well, most of us are). On top of that, I'm more of a visual thinker; words don't come easy for me.

If you can't handle me at my blurst, you don't deserve to see my vest.
What I’m doing with my life
Working my dream job. Saving up to travel.

I read a lot, go to the movies, meditate. I love being outdoors as much as possible. I'm solar-powered (aka an early riser), and try to get the most out of every day.

Or I'd like to. I've really become a workaholic these days, and I'm trying to take time to relax a bit.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh.

Listening. Seriously, if listening to other people was an Olympic sport, I'd be a gold-medal champion. But only at the summer games.

Pinball. In fact I'm so good, you might say I had some sort of magical talent. Perhaps even a Pinball Sorcerer.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically, I've been compared to a Hobbit, so I'm gonna go with that.

I always carry at least one book with me, in case of emergencies.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I read a lot of non-fiction (especially history and travel), but I'll check out anything that intrigues me. I have a pretty big collection of comics and graphic novels too.

Movies: I enjoy going out to the movies randomly, without finding out about what I'll see before hand. I'm almost always pleasantly surprised, but there have been a couple of disappointments. At home I'll watch almost anything, but lately I've been in the mood for surreal/cult/art films like the Brothers Quay.

Television: I don't have cable or satellite, but my general tastes run towards The Muppet Show, Archer, Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, Daria, Community, Arrested Development, Downton Abbey, Adventure Time, The Simpsons, Futurama, Bizarre Foods, and MST3K.

Music: Far, far too many artists to name, so I'll just leave a few of my favorite songs as a sample:

Food: As long as it's prepared with thought and effort, I'll try it.
The six things I could never do without
1. My glasses

2. My job (although I have a couple of ideas for a home business that I'd like to try someday, when I have the room for it)

3. My car

4. A sense of humor. I find a lot of things amusing, not necessarily "laugh out loud" kind of funny (although there certainly are times when that's true), but more of an internal, observational humor.

5. Tea.

6. My cat Ollie.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Planning my next trip to my parent's farm up north. I love living in the Portland area, but it's nice to see the night sky without any kind of artificial light.

Whether life is more like a David Lynch film or more like a Far Side comic. (Both!)

"Well, isn't it sad that most people
Stay so lonely, it's almost a crime
We might be strange weirdos
Well, it can't be normal
To be frightened so much of our time"
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably relaxing at home after work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have mild Asperger's Syndrome. Quiet and introverted and a little anxious.

Also hypothyroidism. Despite appearances, I'm really very active.

"No! I am not Prince Hamlet, nor was meant to be;
Am an attendant lord, one that will do
To swell a progress, start a scene or two,
Advise the prince; no doubt, an easy tool,
Deferential, glad to be of use,
Politic, cautious, and meticulous;
Full of high sentence, but a bit obtuse;
At times, indeed, almost ridiculous—
Almost, at times, the Fool."
You should message me if
you'd like to get together for good tea and good conversation.
