My self-summary
I moved to New York a little more than three years ago from Texas. I’ve moved a lot (made a big circle around the country, in fact), but this is where I’ve always wanted to end up, and I completely love the city. There are a million things to do here; send me your favorites!

2016 has been a great year so far--went to Cuba, sold some books, taking an Alaskan cruise, moving from Williamsburg to the Village--excited to see what comes next.

Here's a collection of things that I think I am:

Loyal friend. Voracious reader. Frequent flyer. Indiscriminate movie watcher. Bon vivant. Theatregoer. Fun instigator. Lindy hopper-in-training. Museum ambler. Football and basketball fan. Regular exerciser. Neighborhood explorer.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a literary agent--I represent authors and sell their books to publishers. It's amazing. In previous versions of my life, I practiced law and taught high school English. I write a bit.
I’m really good at
- Baking
- Literary analysis (super useful, that one)
- Making friends wherever I go and keeping in touch with them
- Planning trips
- Scrabble
The first things people usually notice about me
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Just a few of each...

Books: Middlesex, Pride and Prejudice, The Sun Also Rises, The Portable Dorothy Parker. And so. many. more.

Movies: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Wedding Crashers, The Princess Bride, Midnight in Paris. I tend to see more independent films but re-watch lighter fare.

TV: The Newsroom, Modern Family, and, if I'm being honest, Gilmore Girls.

Music: Current alternative like The Killers. The Indie Dance station on Pandora. 90's alternative/grunge like Nirvana and Veruca Salt. A smattering of everything else. And I won't start things off between us with a lie--I love Taylor Swift.

Food: Caesar salad, very rare steak, and French fries would be my last-meal menu, but I love trying new foods/cuisines/restaurants. Pizza and tasting menus: both excellent.

The six things I could never do without
- Friends around the country and the world
- Negronis in the summer and Manhattans in the winter
- Books, all the books
- Seeing a new place (preferably more than one) every year
- Theatres of all sorts
- Sunglasses (I have weirdly sensitive eyes)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My dreams and how to achieve them. Where I want to travel to next and how to make it happen. Increasingly, how to make my lifestyle better match my ideals.

And where to eat dinner this weekend.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends or crashed out on the couch. Or at the opera or a movie or a concert...who knows, it's New York.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
"I want all that stupid old shit, like letters and sodas."
You should message me if
You're smart, witty, and fun. You like books. You want to grab a drink.
