My self-summary
Well, where to start. I'm a writer who is obsessed with shiny electronics (so shiny!). I am also a cellist, martial artist, and insatiable reader, mostly (but not exclusively) of science fiction and fantasy. Honestly, if you leave something written near me, I'm pretty much compelled to read brain needs constant feeding.
What I’m doing with my life
Stuff, and also things. The serious answer is grad school in Education, but I like to pretend I'm getting a degree in ukelele juggling.
I’m really good at
Making ridiculous foods using science. Did you know you can make ice cream in under three minutes using liquid nitrogen? It's also cold enough to freeze in alcohol, so I made pumpkin kahlua ice cream. SO GOOD.

Playing the cello. I was sadly out of shape for a while, but I'm getting back into it, woo!

Also photography, which is helped by having pretty friends who like dressing up. :D

I like playing Go, but I'm not sure I could say I'm any good at it.
The first things people usually notice about me
Erm...wish I knew. Actually, I'm probably better off not knowing. I have the sneaking suspicion that the ratio of "What a nice/attractive/funny guy!" to "What a ridiculous/terrible/nightmarishly horrific monstrosity" is too low. Okay, that was a lie, my curiousity is nigh overwhelming, and would love to know...just need to get that whole mind reading trick down.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything by Lois McMaster Bujold, Roger Zelazny, Neil Gaiman or Terry Pratchett. And the Dresden Files. Really most of what I read for fun falls under the scifi/fantasy heading (not counting various news sources). And most of what I write, strange how that works. :D

Movies: Serenity, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Lord of the Rings, anything by Miyazaki, Kill Bill, Inception, Akira, and Dr. Horrible, of course. Repo! The Genetic Opera just made my list of favorites, how did I miss it for so long?

Food: I have a serious weakness for Thai and Japanese food. Living near a decent sushi place is proving problematic for my wallet.

...There isn't a category for anime/manga, but right now I'm moderately obsessed with Gate - Thus the JSDF Fought There.
Six things I could never do without
Books. Good company. Some space to myself. I think those are my main qualifications for happiness. Yes, that's only three things, but sometimes it's nice to be minimalistic.

...and interesting sexy times. Because. ^^
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why people do what they do - brains are weird things. Also, neutron stars are freaking awesome, amirite? That and 3D printers, because I spend basically all day forever tinkering with mine.
On a typical Friday night I am
Arranging the downfall of my enemies, bwahahaha!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I defend against zombies by decapitating them with cutting remarks.
Really though, in all honesty, do not try that in the event of an actual undead incursion. If you are bitten while snapping off some brilliant repartee, do not blame me/try to eat me, I will take it personally.
You should message me if
You are friendly and like french toast. Because if you don't you are clearly not human. If you despise french toast, but enjoy crepes, you are conditionally forgiven.

Anyway, if you think we'd have fun getting to know each other, as friends or otherwise, say hi. I'd say I don't bite, but that would be a blatant lie. ^_^
