My self-summary
I enjoy camping, traveling, reading, coffee, and staying active. I generally like to occupy my time with activities so I am always on the run. I am in grad school for geology right now.

"Jesus Christ Marie! They're minerals!" is something I hear on a daily basis when I tell people I'm a geologist. Does it get old? Never. Thank goodness for Breaking Bad!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm studying groundwater sciences at WMU as a graduate student. Science is one hell of a slippery slope.

When I am at school I'm work part-time at a museum and contemplate "shower thoughts" such as, "April Fool's Day is the one day of the year when people critically evaluate news articles before accepting them as true" or "the ultimate goal of a good dating app is to eventually delete it".
I’m really good at
I am good at engaging the public. Years of working at a museum helped me get over my of fear public speaking.
The first things people usually notice about me
People say I am friendly and understanding. There is usually a goofy smile on my face after learning something cool in class. When it is colder I wear an obnoxiously long Gryffindor scarf or a large red ushanka. Sometimes both if there is a polar vortex.

On a typical Friday night I am
Studying, researching, or working. The grad life is totally fun! But during those rare occasions I'm free I'm at a bonfire with friends or stargazing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I used to hide rum behind a removable soap caddy in my boarding school's dorm room shower. They never caught me.
You should message me if
I'm looking for someone who genuinely enjoys life, has a large sense of humor, and an open mind.
