My self-summary
Geotimeline: NY (12) -> CO (1) -> MA (5) -> TX (5) -> CA (15)

I love hatching the perfect plan, but secretly romanticize randomness. Running, hiking, biking, snowboarding, and gym-ratting keep me pretty active year-round. My 4-nights-a-week music-seeking habits have tapered off, but I'm still making regular deposits into my ticket-stub collection. In the past year I visited Mexico and Brasil and hit festivals in Joshua Tree, Lake County, and Quincy... but I really love kicking it in SF, going on meandering walks and biking adventures, soaking up the scenery, scouting new haunts, popping in on friends, chatting it up with strangers - preferably alongside a rockstar-sweetheart adventure partner.

I'm a software engineer with a liberal arts degree from a nerdy school, a devout DailyShow/NPRaholic who eagerly engages in discussion of social morality and politics, but I'm especially energized by sassy humor, upbeat sarcasm, and hilarious deviant expression. I live for hilarious people and situations, and my faith in humanity can be restored by a 5-minute belly-laughing banter session. Two of my favorite words are 'quirky' and 'character', and I tend to surround myself with crafty-funky-goofball-extrovert friends. At the end of a night out, if a hilariously impractical entrepreneurship has been proposed or wily current-events-catchphrase has been coined, I feel more complete.

I'm seeking a co-conspirator for such activities as: dissecting plot nuances, dominating dancefloors, trying out new recipes, trying out obnoxious phrases on Dodgers right-fielders, navigating international airport terminals, causing a stir at costume parties, geo-locating the best drip coffee, shredding tahoe slopes, and finding the most scenic spots to chill, goof off, and rejuvenate in NorCal and beyond.
What I’m doing with my life
For work: extracting "meaning" out of online content using text analytics, natural language processing, and machine-learning algorithms. It's a non-stop nerd-off pocket-protector party at my office, we get freaky deaky.

For fun:
- stomping and riding through wilderness in pursuit of vistas and endorphins
- getting sucked into SF side-alley detours and hole-in-the-wall gems
- geeking out on old SF maps and Victorian architecture
- hitting as many toddler birthday parties and barbecues as I can squeeze in every weekend (darn rug-rats are everywhere, exerting total control over my favorite adults)
- playing keyboards, sometimes with bands, sometimes with a DJ (usually to myself, thru headphones)
- building (or planning but never quite building) random ad hoc websites
- getting my heart rate up to 160
- seeking the most danceable beats, wittiest banter, and tastiest tacos
I’m really good at
Conspiring to make anything fun. Finding my rally pants, no matter how buried they are. Remembering your favorite dessert, your mother's birthday, and your dad's favorite baseball team. Analyzing the bejeezus out of harmony, melody, and rhythm. Remembering to rehydrate. Playing devil's advocate, identifying with the enemy... before destroying him from within... mua ha ha
The first things people usually notice about me
Some plausible candidates would be: my smile, my style, or my colorful articulation.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I gush over ad lib acting and improv music, loathe over-production and manufactured image, and am mildly prone to giddy obsession when I find something I really connect with.

60s rock-n-roll, 70s funk, 80s metal, 90s jam, 00s funky breaks. I keep saying I'll never miss another Jazzfest, though lately I can name more UK breaks DJs than Nawlins funk bands. I like to boogie down, whoop it up, and get rowdy with good peeps to good beats. I'm a regular at HSMF, Nawlins Jazz Fest, Symbiosis, BMan - and while on the subject, I'm a f**king awesome festival partner.

Six things I could never do without
sense of humor/irony
friends & family
patio seating
trader joe's roasted seaweed snacks (sorry "caffeine" there's a new #6 in town)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my next international adventure. i'm looking at you Vietnam/Laos.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sipping a pint on a patio with peeps... bouncing to beats in a bar or a club... remote debugging code with the news on in the background... en route to adventure in Tahoe or Mendo or NOLA or NYC... scrambling to trap the song in my head into software on my mac...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I might have a mini-crush on Erin Burnett. Even though she kinda annoys the hell out of me. I've never understood why the latter doesn't trump the former.
You should message me if
You're adventurous, free-spirited, love to laugh... but appreciate sarcasm and east coast edge. You like surprises, you're full of surprises. You're energized by nerdy creativity and extracurricular side projects. The idea of swooping in on a riverboat in Amsterdam, a passing art car at Burning Man, or a blues divebar in New Orleans and rocking out with random strangers till everyone's refilling each other's drinks and showing off hidden tattoos seems like a fabulous tandem adventure.
