My self-summary
I've decided to re-enable my account after a two year absence, work got busy and I did some travelling, but I am interesting in seeing some new people and see where that leads to, don't hesitate to shoot me a message to say hi, I am a great conversationalist. Cheers!

Someone asked me what's my story and I thought I would share this answer here.

Me "For me It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girl dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day....."

Her "Goodyear?"

Me "No, the worst."

So obviously I am a bit (Ed. really? only a bit??) goofy but I'm also a very down to earth, yet driven, human being. I know what I want and how to get it. But I also realize that things in this world sometimes happen for reasons unknown, and when that happens, either roll with the punches, or make some lemonade out of those lemmings... or something like that.

I am a very warm and loyal person once a friendship develops, I am extremely passionate in life, but I would not go so far to say I am intense, maybe when I was younger, but a great balance of passion and mellowness now pervades me.

I wear my heart on my sleeve proudly, sometimes that's not a good thing, but I would not have it any other way at all, I have met way too many great people over the years to not be like this, and I have gotten much better at spotting the people the I don't really want to associate with on a personal level, business is something else of course.

I've been lucky enough to travel quite a bit over my life, but to be honest, Canada is where I want to stay, we really do have it awesome here. Living in the US was great for the higher wages and exchange rate (that's long gone), but the quality of life was a lot lower there compared to Canada.

Someone asked me where I have traveled and I thought I would share that here.

Everywhere across the US and Canada, I have lived in Toronto, Montreal (born there), San Francisco, and recently was in Vancouver for 7 years.

I have traveled to (listing from East to West) London, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, Zurich, Lichtenstein, Innsbruck, Riyadh, Jeddah, and the UAE. And some other places I have most likely forgotten.

So far this year (2013), I have been to Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Mostly all for business for a week or so, but Vegas was for pleasure.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a producer in the media industry and have been doing this the last decade, it's exactly what I want to do and it gives me great satisfaction knowing I am able to help others bring their dreams and concepts into reality.

Was just invited by OKC to be one of their moderators, they said I was special something or other....

What the heck is with all the pictures of dogs fellow cupids? This is like the opposite of LOLCats or something. And am I seeing a trend here? Men like cats and women like dogs? What does that mean? Must ponder this a bit, but if you have some theories please send them my way.

And now I see the underbelly of OKC, naked obscene pictures created by accounts that have only been active for one day with zero questions answered. These are all scam accounts looking to take advantage of people, if it is to good to be true, then that's exactly what it is.

Caveat emptor.
I’m really good at
Seeing the obvious that everyone else seems to not see.
AND... Herding cats, just part of my daily job routine...
The first things people usually notice about me
My glasses, or that I look like this other guy they know, 90% of the time they are talking about my twin. The rest of the time, I seem to remind people of someone they know from the past.

And for a while there, new people I had just met were telling me my voice and speech reminds them of that actor from Heathers.

And a lot of people (read everyone) don't believe my age when I tell them, I was still being carded in my mid 30s, then the doorman would look at me and say "Welcome SIR, please have a good time." I would then snatch my ID back and mutter something under my breath....

This runs in my family as well, and I am pretty sure we don't have any Asian ancestors.....
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
*Watch House of Cards! Trust me you will love it!* In fact I encourage you to binge it on a weekend, it's a very smooth running experience and very satisfying. (I think I just described a beer commercial)

* I see a lot of people here talk about all the great HBO and AMC shows they watch and enjoy, but I have yet to read one persons profile that says the same about AMCs "The Killing", which is just as good as Homeland, dare I say better... there, I did say it's better in fact, in a different way than how Homeland is great. I encourage anyone who enjoys Breaking Bad, Homeland, The Wire, The Shield, Dexter, etc. to watch this show, it's only 2 seasons in and is easy to catch up on. You will love it, money back guarantee! *

Another few shows I have really been enjoying are Hell On Wheels, just a better version of Deadwood, and Justified also.

Oh, and I am a total Fringe addict, and for that, I forgive you JJ Abrams for the horrid ending of LOST.

I am a consumer of many type of media, as long as it is great, I am interested in consuming it.

Anything that is great is what I will watch, from On The Waterfront to The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. But I also have a deep love for movies like Alien, Blade Runner, Apocalypse Now, Fight Club, The Matrix, Goodfellas, The Princess Bride, Splash (yes I said that!), and many documentaries.

Almost anything from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Favourite genres are Alternative and Retro, with a dash of Punk/Pop-Punk thrown in. Not really into Hip Hop or Rap music, unless you mean real rap like NWA, Public Enemy, and the Beastie Boys.

Started with Sci-Fi as a child, thanks to my father, then moved onto Fantasy, and I am very pleased that books I read 10-20 years ago are all being made into movies and HBO shows nowadays.

Once again, anything outstanding. From Homeland to Dexter to Modern Family to Curb your Enthusiasm to The League (never heard of it? it comes on right after It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and you need to watch it).
Six things I could never do without
Friends and Family

My PC and my MAC mini server

My Cottage in Muskoka - it's been the one constant in my life the last 35 years, it's a magical serene place that is my refuge from what is sometimes a crazy roller coaster of a life that I am part of

Kraft Dinner

My Bike

New places to explore and experience
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My next big thing, whatever it might be. I am also looking to the future to see what's going to happen, and why is it happening.
On a typical Friday night I am
Talking to friends at dinner, watching a movie, or just relaxing at home. I lead a simple life between spurts of intense controlled craziness and traveling.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You'll have to ask me that when we meet!
You should message me if
*I want to point that I love kids and in my last relationship I helped raise two wonderful girls for 7 years or so. One of them now works for me on a part time basis as an artist in fact. BUT I also want to point out that I am in my 40s as you can see, so I am not looking to start a family from scratch, so if you are looking for someone like that, unfortunately I am not that person for you. If you have children already, that's cool, but I am also not interested in jumping back into Family-Mode right this second, I've got a lot of things I want to cross off my bucket-list first.*

If you've read this far, thanks very much for indulging me and my story. If I happen to rate you a 4 stars (I'd never give 5, that would be judging a book by it's cover), please think of that as a comfortable look and then a warm smile across a room at our mutual friends party, a quick reality check to see if you are interested in chatting, and if you are interested, please rate me back at 4 stars and I will reach out to you toute suite.

*Bah! OKC has changed the above from finding out when someone rated you 4/5 stars into their paid service, in the past you would get an email saying someone had rated you highly and you would know who they are, but not any more...grumble grumble...*

So back to square one then and the old feet to pavement routine and writing lots of introduction emails.... there has to be a better way than this to sense if someone is interested in chatting and potentially meeting with you.....

About you, you're a good person with great values and interested in meeting someone new and very interesting.

You take care of your health and have a routine, maybe it's Yoga or Muay Thai, but it's something that keeps you in shape and is also a stress reliever and endorphin release.

I don't think I need to say that there needs to be that spark between us, dare I say some Animal Magnetism? Sometimes it happens, sometimes it does not, which is just the way it is I find.

I am looking for a "partner in crime", someone who can bring new things to the table, and hopefully expose me to their life and a different culture. And of course someone who can help me be a better person, where the sum of our total is not "2", but greater than that.

PS I love dancing and don't do enough of it any more, Retro music is my current favourite.

PPS I also seem to be attracted to people outside my race, don't know why, but the heart knows what it wants even if I don't 90% of the time.
