My self-summary
I find myself attracted to people who aren't afraid to laugh- especially at themselves. I'm a romantic at heart, despite the fact that I'd like to pretend I'm some hip level of jaded. Also, I make great waffles. I've decided that if I can nail breakfast, I'm doing ok.
What I’m doing with my life
I always think I should move away from Seattle, live somewhere else for a few years. I love new experiences. But I really love it here, which makes it hard to think about ever moving away for any length of time.

Two years ago I moved to the upper side of Fremont after seven years on First Hill. I'm getting to know the neighborhood and liking the change of pace. I will miss being able to walk to Neumos...

I have a 2ish year old rescue lab/shepherd mutt as of last summer. He's a total goof but also definitely had some tough times in his past, so he has some problems as a result. If you're a six foot plus dude or have pet squirrels, we're not going to work out.

I'm a writer of sorts, and for the past few years have been doing marketing writing and business development support for an energy services company with strong green initiatives. In my free time I occasionally stumble my way through some pretty terrible fiction.

If you play me the right music, I will get up and dance like no other. If you play the wrong music, I will sit back and make snarky remarks. Ke$ha, you manage to fall into both categories.

I run, but I still don't consider myself a runner. In other words, I'm slow.
I’m really good at
making a joke, but not realizing it has a double meaning, and then taking credit for both.

deciding to take a long walk instead of hopping the bus

conversations, both deep and amusingly trivial
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm sarcastic, yet very gullible. I'm very easy going, and often you'll see me go from (seemingly) withdrawn to a broad smile in seconds.

David Sedaris, Everything is Illuminated, The Stranger by Albert Camus, William Gibson, Elmore Leonard, The National, gyros, The Shawshank Redemption, Fresh Espresso, Russel Banks, Elliot Smith, The Roots, The Motorcycle Diaries, Layer Cake, Game of Thrones, Talib Kweli, Girl Talk, cuban sandwiches, The Big Lebowski, The Avett Brothers, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, The Lord of The Rings, The Rum Diaries, The Head and The Heart, Dexter, Mad Men, Bon Iver, Etta James, M.Ward, Michael Chabon, 50/50, The Black Keys, Band of Skulls, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings
Six things I could never do without
My friends, my laptop and/or an endless supply of Moleskins, soul music, sandwiches, dancing, oxygen.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the ways in which we change...and the ways in which we don't.
On a typical Friday night I am
at a concert, at dive bar karaoke or maybe just relaxing in a friend's living room.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is not on OKCupid.
You should message me if
You have an open mind, you love a good conversation and you don't mind being cautiously optimistic on a regular basis.
