My self-summary
Media and Drama teacher. I can tap dance. Just.
What I’m doing with my life
Teaching. Not getting enough sleep. Riding my red bike through the inner north like the cliché that I am. Acting in plays for shits and giggles.
I’m really good at
Doing my hair when I can be arsed. Saying the alphabet backwards.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tallish for a lady. I can get things off the top shelves in supermarkets for little old ladies. It's not a bad superpower to have. Also, my hair colour changes a bit, which is great for losing the feds.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Jasper Fforde, check him out. Also love the classics. Jane Eyre has been a favourite since I read it in Year 11, and I will argue about its feminist merits until my dying day. Will try most anything, but am well aware that life is too short to read bad writing.
Movies: Always difficult to do succinctly. Stranger Than Fiction is the greatest. I'm getting close to 30 viewings of The Truman Show (occupational hazard) and it just keeps getting better. I love a good 80s film and will put down whatever I'm doing to watch a Back to the Future. How good is The Grand Budapest Hotel, btw? Open to anything that isn't a waste of time.
Shows: 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, The Office (US version, before you ask and, yes, judge away), etc. The West Wing, The Newsroom. Glitch - watch it if you like amazing Australian content. Bonus points if you don't download it.
Music: Muse, Arcade Fire, Mumford and Sons, The Strokes, Florence and the Machine, The Mountain Goats, The Beatles, Crowded House, The National. Also, Tripod are awesome.
Food: Food is good. Except raw tomatoes. And olives. Those are gross.
The six things I could never do without

what, six things?

Dismantling the patriarchy
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what kind of dog I would get if had a backyard that wasn't concrete.
On a typical Friday night I am
at rehearsal or at the theatre (on stage or in the audience, depending).
You should message me if
You haven't been scared off by the wee references to feminism I've chucked in there.
