My self-summary
I am a lover of the wild outdoors, an adventurer at heart while scuba diving with angel sharks or snowshoeing with bison or kayaking with grey whales. I enjoy getting confused as a native Ecuadorian while studying in the cloud forest outside of Quito, attending a stage performance of Oliver Twist at the Globe Theatre, and falling gently asleep on the floor of the Sistene Chapel as I gaze up at its ceiling.

I am adventurous, poetic, and quixotic

What I’m doing with my life
My apologies for not updating this before; I was a student at LSU...I finished, just finished publishing two scientific papers on my LSU salt-marsh research, and am now a PhD student at Umass Boston studying marine biology. Ongoing projects include population connectivity among mussels in the Gulf of Maine, how climate change will affect intertidal communities, and another project on global biodiversity...so I'm pretty busy, but I love it. Tons of biochemistry, evolutionary biology, community dynamics and lots of saltwater (in the lab and field).

I've been a long time gone, spent the last 5 years studying sea turtles in Costa Rica, teaching field biology while scuba diving in California, was in New Orleans, and now live in Brighton. I used to live on an island off the coast of California, snorkeling with leopard sharks, kayaking with pelicans and hiking with buffalo, sharing my island with students. During my free time I can be found having staring contests with mantis shrimp at 90 ft while on scuba, kayaking alongside great blue herons through the salt marshes of Cape Cod or slicing through some powder while skiing in Salt Lake City. I enjoy building campfires in deserted island surfspots and hiking inside of bald eagles' nests with close friends. I also play tennis several times a week, and am training for a triathlon.
I’m really good at
Painting, free-dive collecting for aquariums, circumnaving islands by kayak, teaching field biology, speaking spanish, back massages, taking cactus spines out of my tongue after eating the fruit, staying close with friends i've known since kindergarten, downing 7 shots and 3 beer bongs while destroying everyone at foozeball and mariokart, quoting vintage john cusack movies and engaging in witty repartees, hiking previously unexplored mountains while barefoot
The first things people usually notice about me

Six things I could never do without
Memories and moments shared with the people I love, busted copy of HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy, set of pastel pencils, my Crazy Creek Chair and my Necky fiberglass kayak.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The Next Adventure, catching that elusive baby sheephead, what happened to my wallet, and that girl I used to know, how to make the most out of every moment,
On a typical Friday night I am
Taking students night snorkeling, catching sea pansies and thornback rays, followed by some beers and foozeball, drinking from a bag of wine hanging from the rafters while we danceand sing on the table, falling asleep on the couch at 4 am, walking back to my house by 5, getting up at 6:30 to watch the sunrise.........
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Parts of the following movies always make me cry: feivel an american tail, into the wild, when harry met sally, sleepless in seattle, last of the mohicans/samurai, hook...
I also catch spiny lobster with my bare hands and hiked 20 miles solo with a dislocated finger through cactus country while nearly getting beheaded by a wild bison...so I guess it all evens out...
You should message me if
you're looking to swap some good stories and warm memories with a former stranger, maybe need a partner in crime who looks good in a suit, neoprene or black tie, someone to lead you out into the wilderness with a copy of hitchhiker's guide in one hand and ginsberg in the other, who will then need your help to guide us back home.
The two of us
