My self-summary
In the interest of full disclosure, you should know that I don't live in St. Paul. I live in New Brighton (a suburb). OkCupid's zipcode interpreter spits out St. Paul, and I can't change it. I'd much rather be back in Mpls. (I lived in Uptown for 6 years.)

I'm a comedy nerd and nerd-in-general (though I prefer the term "intellectual") who's also a sports fan. AND I love theater, esp. MUSICAL theater. Politically, I'm far to the Left. I watch "Democracy Now!" daily. So deal with THAT, Society!

I dig stand-up (esp. Patton Oswalt, Mike Birbiglia, Eugene Mirman and the like) and alternative comedy, as exemplified by podcasts like "Jordan, Jesse, Go!" and Adult Swim (although I'm not crazy about the "Hieronymous Bosch fever dream" direction in which they're going).
What I’m doing with my life
Just got a job at a Goodwill store in my continuing quest to finally escape the corporate world and find work that benefits society. Last year I shoveled snow and mowed lawns for seniors, which was pretty cool. This is also my summer to finally give stand-up the old college try, although I'm not sure how much longer I can keep getting my ass handed to me at the open mic's :^P

In March, I went to the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico for 10 days with a delegation meeting with farmers and NGO's dealing with trade, immigration, economic and political issues. It was great, esp. when we stayed with families in a village. I really needed to reconnect with my humanity.
I’m really good at
Comedy, in my humble opinion. I think writing is my calling, but writing jobs are hard to come by. I wrote and performed a (hopefully) humorous, autobiographical one-man show in the 2013 MN Fringe Festival. It was my 4th Fringe as a writer, director and/or performer. My first was in '04 as a member of the sketch comedy troupe "The Half Windsors" (hence the handle). None of the shows made a big splash, but it was a ton o' fun collaborating with really cool, talented actors and comedians.
The first things people usually notice about me
are a mystery to me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: almost any history book, Fever Pitch, Wicked

Movies: Trainspotting, Rushmore, Oklahoma!

(Hint: You can tell how secure I am in my masculinity by my cultural tastes!)

Music: Flaming Lips, Sly & the Family Stone, Bob Dylan, Wu-Tang Clan

TV: Mad Men, Seth MacFarlane's oeuvre, Downton Abbey

Food: Thai, American, organic
The six things I could never do without
1. Love
2. Happiness
3. Joy
4. Puppies
5. Kittens
6. Puppy-kitten hybrids
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future. Like, will apes be our masters? (Extra points if you know the show. If you know the episode, I'm all yours!)
On a typical Friday night I am
generally, at the movies or a play, patronizing a bar or even singing karaoke. (I've gotten some compliments on my voice :^)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think I've said enough for now. Why ruin the mystery?
You should message me if
you are smart, funny, sweet, genuine and kind.
