My self-summary

So what can I tell you about me? Many things actually, but then you’d have to meet me to believe it’s all true. To quote Popeye, I am what I am.
I’m a cross between someone that enjoys everything he does in life, but knows how to be responsible when the time comes. I generally trust people till they prove me wrong. I’m a knight that has some rust on his armor, but still gives it his all. Chivalry is not dead to me, it was the way I was brought up. Opening doors is the easiest thing to do, I have no clue why more don’t do it. I can blend in easily wherever I go, and have a way of listening to people that makes them feel at ease. Depending on the convenience store I am entering/leaving, it ranges from 5'11" to 6'1", so 6' is the average :)

I enjoy travelling, concerts, plays, movies, or relaxing at home. If I can’t find someone that wants to go, I have no problem doing them alone. But it would be so much better to have someone to share it all with.

Things I’m really not a fan of include camping and fishing. My idea of roughing it is no room service at the hotel, and fish is something I either buy in a store or have served at a restaurant. Really that’s about it. I’m just not that big on sleeping on the ground. I can clean a fish, learned a long time ago how to do that. Don’t take that to mean I don’t like being on the water or going to the beach. Gulf coast beaches are fantastic if you’ve never been to them. I really prefer them! Also not really a big fan of broccoli or Brussel Sprouts as long as I’m being honest.

I have a northern attitude with southern charm. The exterior may look a little rough, but inside there is something else that you’ll enjoy. I know how to dress, tie a necktie, but prefer causal as much as possible. I retired at the top from one career that was a blast, now I work and have fun in my new career! It's not blue collar, but not a white collar position either. Sort of light blue as a buddy of mine calls it.

My daughter and I are close, but she has her life in another part of the state. I think I did a pretty good job as a single parent. And lastly, I have two dogs that are friendly, so please be aware of that aspect of my life.

So what am I looking for? They say opposites attract, but I would like a bit of common interests. Having a passport might help as well. I think I mentioned I like to travel didn’t I? I’m not looking for someone that wants to change me, and I promise I won’t try to change you.

If you’re looking for a guy that lives at home with his parents or adult kids, I’m not the man for you.
If you’re looking for a guy that has no goals or initiative in life, then I’m not the man for you.
If you’re looking for a guy that changes jobs as often as the weather changes, I’m not the guy for you
If you’re looking for a guy that doesn't have a driver's license or a car, I'm not the guy for you.
If you’re looking for a guy that talks nonstop about how bad the ex was, I’m not the man for you.
If you’re looking for a guy that wants to stay home 100% of the time, I’m not the man for you.
If you're looking for a guy that has no clue on a romantic gesture, or what one is, I'm not the man for you.
If you’re looking for a guy that will never compromise and is closed minded, I’m not the man for you.
If you’re looking for a guy that doesn’t respect your opinions, or you for that matter, I’m not the man for you.
If you’re looking for a guy that doesn’t understand or even know what chivalry is, I’m not the man for you.
If you’re looking for a guy that plays games with your emotions, I’m not the man for you.

So many If’s in life, and these are but a few of them. Maybe you should look at what you’re looking for and go outside the box on your thinking. Just a thought…….

The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same. -Carlos Castaneda

Insanity, doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. So take a leap if I say hi, you never know where the journey may lead to in life.
