My self-summary
I like moving from online to an in-person conversation fast. There's so little you can learn from online profiles.

Message me if you have a question, even if you don't finish reading.

I spent a decade in California, though Hawai'i will always be my home. I love city life, active community engagement, and a diverse body of people.
I read books about faith, hope and love. I draw so much meaning and identity in that, so if you'd ever like to chat about that, I'm all for it.

Things I love: riding my bike, watching movies. In music, I play some piano, some guitar, more of drums, bass guitar too. I love singing songs. I'm extroverted although I'm not super talkative; I like hearing quiet people speak more than loud people over-talk.

The best match is when two people can understand one another, and help the other understand themselves. We all benefit from an outsider's perspective on ourselves. If I can help someone become the best they can be, and if she can do that to me, then we can set each other free.

We all have a story to share. Go ahead. Let me hear a little of yours.
What I’m doing with my life
completed graduate student in international economics and data analysis
I’m really good at
figuring out musical instruments. organizing socializing events. listening.
The first things people usually notice about me
I like to eat. I make people laugh and I feel like I brighten up the office when I show up. I enjoy socializing much. I like to treat and respect people well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
awesome author: Haruki Murakami. Life of Pi, Count of Monte Cristo. Also books on econ/economic development, numerous Christian literature titles, and National Geographic Magazine, definitely!
movies: there are WAYYY too many to name. Films with Matt Damon, Denzel, Clooney, Brad Pitt, Liam Neeson. films directed by Chris Nolan.
fav food: Japanese, Korean, Hawaiian, Thai, Italian.
music: I think 90s music is much of my fav. I love listening as well as playing it. jazz/folk/alternative/indie artists often amaze me, and I love catching an up-and-coming artist live
The six things I could never do without
NPR podcasts (that must sound nerdy to many people)
prayer/meditation/spiritual exercises
kitchen, oven, and a well-stocked fridge
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How my worries are always put into a much healthier perspective when I think of what other people are going through. It's especially why I listen to story-telling podcasts much.
How each person's personal life story is made up of where she is from and where she's been
On a typical Friday night I am
either: hanging out with friends, recuperating from the work week, watching a movie at home, often quite low-key.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I'm alone and in a great mood, I sing my head off!
Also, there's a gap between two of my teeth that often splits my dental floss in two, and I always forget this.
(oh there's plenty of time to hear what mundane things you have to share)
